For those who have been watching Modern Family and for those who haven’t this is their 10th and possible final season on ABC.

For those who don’t know this the star, Ed O’Neil, was on another groundbreaking sitcom on Fox network.  That show was called Marriage with Children.

I will discuss the comparison between the 2 shows with a little comparison to this family; who happens to be part of my family.

Let us look at Ed O’Neil.  He was no Hollywood’s heart throb by no means.  Yet, somehow, the stars who played his wives on both show,  are very sexy.  We all know how sexy Sophia Vergaras is; even with her accent.  Well, in the Marriage with Children’s days, Katy Sagal, I would say was also very sexy.  It got me thinking, only in Hollywood can a man like Ed O’Neil be so lucky.

I cannot imagine anyone else portraying Al Bundy or even his character on Modern Family than Ed O’Neil.  He just fit both characters.

But did you know that he once tried out for the role of Sam Malone on Cheers?  It wouldn’t had been the same.

On Marriage with Children, Al Bundy was married but really didn’t love Peg.  He complained about his life in every episode.  In Modern Family, Ed O’Neil divorce his first wife and married a hot sexy wife.

In both shows, he played a father of 2 kids.  The daughter was the oldest in both shows.  If you were to intertwine the shows, you can almost put Marriage with Children into Modern Family, because of the similarities.

On Marriage with Children, Al Bundy made a quote that was, “Golf is not a sport.”  Yet on Modern Family Ed O’Neil’s character played golf and was a member of a country club.

Remember, Al Bundy wouldn’t be allowed into the country club.

On Marriage with Children, Al Bundy was a struggling shoes salesman trying any get rich quick scheme he could think of.  Whereas, on Modern Family, he had succeeded.

Both shows were groundbreaking shows.  They both depict the true family dynamics.

When Marriage with Children first came on, they were the first show on a new network.  That network was Fox.  Before Fox, there was only 4 channels and they were: ABC, CBS, NBC, and PBS.  People had to get up to change the channel.  There was no remote for the TV.  They even had the old rabbit ears on top of the TV.  If you were lucky, you had an antenna on top of your roof as well.  There was no such thing as cable or satellite dish.

Another thing, Fox was a groundbreaking network at the time.  Now they are more conservative.  Fox news is probably more reliable than the other news network.

Marriage with Children was the first show that depict a dysfunctional family.  Before that, families on television seems to be so normal compare to everyday families.  Problems were pretty much solved within half an hour to an hour depending on the shows.  That isn’t life and Marriage with Children actually showed that way before Roseanne did.  Even the Cosby Show had this “perfect” family unit.

Modern Family was also a groundbreaking show in their own way.  They showed extended family with a second wife and a gay son with his gay husband who adopted a daughter from overseas.  They showed 3 smaller families; which is a part of one main family.

You probably wonder where that picture fits in with this blog?  I will try to explain it now.

As I mentioned earlier, they are part of my family.  Yet at the same time, they are what I would say a real life Bundy’s family.

As I mentioned in previous blogs, the Brady Bunch was a wish list of what I wish my family was like.  My family isn’t perfect.  It’s rather dysfunctional, and Marriage with Children depicts one part of my family.

The father, my oldest step-brother is very much like Al Bundy.  He has this entitlement belief, like  Al Bundy.  Even though he was married with children, was there really love or was it obligation.  He felt tied down like Al Bundy did.  They both looks for get-rich quick scheme.

Peg Bundy was very similar to my sister-in-law.  Peg was lazy.  She didn’t cook or clean.  She would foil Al’s scheme all the time.  She was a sex addict.

Kelly Bundy took after Peg in more ways than one.   She was also similar to my oldest niece, Tracy.  I love all my nieces and nephew; so I will get that straight first.  Kelly also had some similarity with Al Bundy as well.  She was looking for ways to break free from that dysfunctional family by any means possible.  I have to admit, I believe that Tracy is doing a wonderful job in breaking free from the bondage of the dysfunction.  I’m proud of her.  Yet at the same time, I’m very much concerned for her as well.

Now Bud Bundy, I would say was way smarter than his parents.  At least he was book smart.  He still falls in the same trap as all of the Bundy’s.  I’m very much concern about his real life counterpart, my only nephew.  He seems to be keeping up with the family tradition.

As dysfunction as the Bundy’s were, when push comes to shove, in the end, they always stood by each other.  This also goes with my family as well.

Even though my family is very dysfunctional, in the end when it’s all said and done, we are somewhat there for each other.  Some more than others!

I think that it would be fun to see the cast from Marriage with Children on Modern Family for their final season.  It will be just to show the connection between the two shows.

I love my family; despite of the dysfunction we all have.  Some days, some of my family members I would love to just give away.  All families have their problems.  There is no perfect family out there.  Even if they pretend to be perfect while in church.  They have their problems too.

I’m glad for the show Marriage with Children for showing the true dysfunctional family for a change.

The latest casualty in the lines of sex scandal is local one for North Dakota and happened just this past spring.  Just south of Fargo, in Richland School District to be precise.

If I got my facts straight, the sex scandal involved older boys hazing the younger boys.  The hazing I’m talking about is of the sexual kinds.

I don’t want to downplay this, because it’s still abuse.

Even though the older boys were sexually hazing the younger boys, the faculty, staff, and the school board were being held liable for it.

Now, I don’t think that they may or may not be liable for it.  I don’t think they made the older kids molest the younger kids.  I mean boys will be boys.

Plus, there is ways to keep things hush if they really wanted to.  I don’t believe that you can blame the school board for this, if they, themselves didn’t know about it when it was happening.

If they knew about it and did nothing; then they should be punish and held liable for it.

To me, it sounds like it was more of a sexual hazing, turned into sexual abuse.

It makes me thinks about the hazing that goes on in colleges fraternity.  I don’t know if it’s happen much up here or not though.

Hazing is forcing someone to do what you want just to be accepted into the group.  It can involved different kinds of abuse; even sexual.

I remember reading few years ago a book about sexual hazing in high school hockey.

Hazing is more about bullies taking advantage of the weaker ones.

If there is one thing that the Richland School District needs to take responsibility for is not combating bully.

They should had learned from the Columbine School’s shooting.  The ones doing the shooting were bullied at one time.  They just crack and went on a shooting spree.

Rather than the victims of abuse at the hands of the bullies, becoming violent to take back their lives; they finally came forward and told about the sexual abuse.

My hats goes off to them!!  It’s not easy to come forward and admit being molested.

The Catholic Church had been plague with the sex abuse scandal for a very long time now.  The church knew about it and kept on covering it up.  Priests were molesting the altar boys for a period of times.  They are slowly trying to do the right things now but it may be a little too late.  The sex abuse in the Catholic church may be the downfall of the church.  Even more than when Martin Luther did his reform and formed the Lutheran church.

There was a high school teacher from West Fargo who was recently charged with molesting some of her male students.

If anything the Richland School District is guilty of; it’s trying to cover-up the abuse.  So I’m glad for those boys who came forward and told their stories.  Kids do not needs to be abuse/molested.  They must be able to stay a kid for as long as they possibly can.

When a child is molested, their innocent is lost forever.   They must grow up fast just to cope with the abuse.

Girls are more apt to tell about being abuse.

Boys, on the other hand, finds it very difficult to talk about the abuse.  The statistic may show higher for girls being abuse; but in the long run, there probably just as much boys being abuse than girls.  It’s just tougher for them to come forward.

Boys are taught to be tough and take it like a man.  They are not to cry and show any signs of weakness.  Being molested shows their weakness.

Hazing is used to teach boys/men to toughen it out.

If a boy is molested by either another older boy like in the Richland School District or a man.  There is a shame factor.  There is a stigma behind it.  They are labeled queer, homosexual, faggot, etc.

In the example of the West Fargo School teacher who molested her male students, it’s a whole different story.  If a boy is molested by a woman, they are high-fived.  If they tell about it, they are to take it as their first sexual experience.

What teenage boys didn’t have a crush on their high school teachers?

I’m proud of those young boys who came forward in the Richland School District in the sexual hazing  from the older boys.  It took courage.  I’m even proud of those boys who came forward against the West Fargo school teacher and the abuse they had suffered as well.

Hazing and sexual abuse is not an easy subject to talk about.  It’s even tougher for boys.

I was waiting for the right time to write this blog; and now the time had come.  Sen. John McCain had just died of cancer.  It’s now time for the truth to comes out about him.  The media didn’t want to offend him upon his death.  I’m not about to sugarcoat the truth for no one.

Some may say, “why don’t you just let it rest?  He is dead.”

To them, I say, “He doesn’t deserve any respect.”

As Paul Harvey would say, “Now, the rest of the story!”

This past week upon reading the letters to the editor, I saw that I’m not alone in thinking that John McCain was no war hero.

According to one of the letters, the American people should reconsider their praise of him.  In another letter, the writer said that he was no maverick.

They called him a hero just because his plane was shot down over Vietnam and he was a POW.  Do you call that being a war hero?

That is nothing to be proud of!

What was so great about the Vietnam War?  Nothing good came out of it!

I lost my cousin, Joey because of that war.  I was 3 years old when he was killed.  I never had the opportunity to get to know him.  Even his nieces and nephews didn’t get a chance to know him.  From what I heard about my cousin, Joey, he adored his family.

The only thing John McCain adored was the power and money behind being a Senator.

My cousin, Joey was more of a war hero than he was.  Even my Uncle John Heger was more of a war hero than McCain.

My Uncle John was at Pearl Harbor when the Japanese attack.  He was just lucky that he wasn’t on the ship that was bombed.

McCain was a war monger.  He proposed going to war with countries we didn’t need to.  Some people were afraid that Trump would get us into a war.  So far, he kept out of a war because the other countries are afraid to attack.  If McCain had his way,  he would had gotten us into wars.

He supported the Nazi in Ukraine, Al-Quaeda in Libya, Isis in Syria and Saddam Hussein in the war against Iran.

When the governor and sheriff from his home state of Arizona was working to stop illegal immigrants from coming into this country through his home state, he called them out on it.  He didn’t back them up.  He joined the side of Obama and the Democrats and criticized them for it.  He was against the wall being built just like George W. Bush and Jeb Bush.

Who needs 9 mansions anyway?  With his 9 mansion, he could housed some of the homeless population.

It was John McCain who made the first attack on Donald Trump.  Trump was only defending himself; which I don’t blame.

The only reason John McCain attack Trump was because he was jealous that Trump was able to do what he couldn’t, and that was become President.  Thank God!!

The only reason he got the nomination was because Rudy Guillani just fizzled out during the primary of 2008.  McCain was about to drop out.

As Guillani was fizzling out, Obama was just getting warm up.  He was beating Hillary Clinton.  I first wanted Guillani because of what he did as Mayor of New York City after 9/11.  When he gave up, Obama promised changed that won this Republican over.

The change came but it wasn’t the change Obama was talking about.  The Tea Party started under George W. Bush and really hit their stride under Obama.

McCain was so angry with the Tea Party.  He even ordered an investigation from the IRS.  The IRS should investigate his estate!

It was the Tea Party movement that started the American people to start a revolt and throw their support to Donald Trump.  McCain didn’t much care for that.

The only reason McCain chose Sara Palin as his running mate was in hoping of winning the women supports from Obama.  When the fake news media attacked Palin, McCain did nothing to protect her.  He left her out to defend herself.  He was not man enough to stand up for her.

I’m not saying that Sara Palin was the right choice.  I’m just saying that she didn’t deserve to be treated the way she was from McCain and the press.

The politicians of New York are not so fastidious as some gentlemen are, as to disclosing the principles on which they act.  They boldly preach what they practice…If they are successful, they claim, as a matter of right, the advantages of success.  They see nothing wrong in the rule that to the victor belong the spoils of the enemy.

John McCain had no principles.  He had no integrity.  He was just in office for himself.  The rest of the American people gets screwed over.  If he had principles, he would had done the right thing and step down when he found out that he was dying of cancer.  He could had used that time to spend with his family in his 9 mansions.

As bad as Harry Reid was, at least he did the right thing when Trump became President, he stepped down.  Even Paul Ryan is stepping down from the Speaker of the House.  McCain should had step down when he knew that he was dying of cancer.

It reminds me of North Dakota own Senator Quentin Burdick.  Toward the end of Burdick’s life, he just became a figurative person to be wheeled around to special meetings.  He was useless.

Because of people like McCain, we needs term limits for our Senators and Congressman.

Here is a little joke:  McCain met St. Peter at the Pearly gate and said, “do you know who I am?  I’m a war hero.”

St. Peter responded, “I know you not.  What have you done for the people is all that matters.”  Then St. Peter send him downward.

Now with John McCain finally gone, there is still others that we need to get rid of.  It’s time for Mitch McConnell to go and he can takes his buddy John Hoeven with him.  We also needs to get rid of Lindsay Graham, Chuck Schumer, and Nancy Pelosi.

This election, the people in Minnesota needs to do the right thing and get rid of Colin Peterson.

We need to help Pres. Trump to clean up the swamp in Washington, by getting rid of these lifers, and then get term limits.

As you can see I have no respect for John McCain and I know that I’m not alone.  He was no war hero.  He didn’t deserve the praise that he was getting.  The American people needs to reconsider who is a hero and who deserves our praises.  It sure wasn’t John McCain!

I have more respect for Aretha Franklin who died just a little before McCain.  Aretha Franklin will be remembered, McCain will not!

 

In honor of the last big holiday weekend of summer, we celebrate Labor Day weekend.  Labor day marks the end of summer, like Memorial Day marks the beginning of summer.

In North Dakota, school begins at the end of August.  Whereas in Minnesota, school starts after Labor day.

My question is: why can’t North Dakota starts school after Labor day instead of before?

Family still goes on vacation up until after Labor day.  It’s harder to go when the kids have to start school before Labor day.

I know that there isn’t much to see in North Dakota compares to Minnesota.  That is no excuse not to start school after Labor day though.  The state is right next door to Minnesota.  Many who lives in North Dakota have lake cabins in Minnesota.  Some who don’t, still goes to the lakes to fish or just to get out of town.

I think that school should start after Labor Day and ends before Memorial day.  To make that happens, they can cut into the time off that the teachers/students get during the school year.  I think they get more time-off than I did when I was in school.

When I was in school, if we had too many storm days, we would either make it up during our Christmas break, Easter break or the end of the school year.

Who doesn’t love storm days?

I have to admit I believe the education system is better in Minnesota than it is in North Dakota.  I don’t know if it’s because they start school after Labor day or what.

I don’t understand, because these two states are right next to each others.  So what gives?

I will give an example:   my family was living in West Fargo up until I was in the 5th grade and we moved out on the farm south of Hawley, MN when I started the 6th grade.  What was the highest reading level in North Dakota was the lowest level in Minnesota.  To me it was like starting over.  I was stunned and not very happy.

I also noticed, shortly after school is let out for the summer, about July.  The retail stores starts promoting back-to-school sales.  Now that is so stupid.  Let’s the kids enjoy the summer.  Why should they have to worry about back-to-school supplies in July?

When we were kids, my mother would wait until August to buy our school supplies.  Even as teenagers, we had part-time summer jobs to help with some of our school supplies and clothes.

Kids are constantly growing.  Clothes that you buy in July may not fit your kids by the time school starts.

School is nine months of the years.  Summer is only 3 months.  So summer is very short, and kids need to enjoy the summer weather.  So by having school starts after Labor day and ending before Memorial day, the kids can have a good summer vacation.

While in school, kids are coop up.  Then the teachers wonder why they are so hyper.  Think about it!  There is no place for the energy to go.

Some of the kids who are labeled with Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD)  may not have it at all.  They just have so much energy from being coop up for 9 months of the year.

Kids need a chance to be kids.  Once you’re an adult, everything goes downhill from there.  Once you are an adult, you have responsibility that must be attend to.  Then we start missing those good old days of our youth.

Believe me, I missed some of my childhood days; and I don’t think I’m alone there.

I think that North Dakota state legislators should look at starting school after Labor day instead before.  I also think that all states should make sure to end  school before Memorial day.  It will be good for our kids.  It will allows them to be kids for as long as they can.  It might even curb their hyperactivity.  Kids shouldn’t have to be drugged because of the so-called ADD.

There is a wide divide between the 1% and the rest of the country.  The homeless population is becoming a huge dilemma.  It really had grown the last while; even under Pres. Obama.

Upon reading this, you may be surprise by what you read; since in a lot of my blogs I come across as being a conservative.

For the longest time, I saw the homeless person as a wino and in need of a bottle(alcohol).  We were always taught never give a bum money when they beg, because they will just go buy more booze.

I remember years ago as I was cutting through the alley on the way home as a shortcut in the evening.  I happened to spied a bum digging through the dumpster.  Let just say, I was scared, and I never took that shortcut in the nighttime again.

Since then I had came up with a different realization about the homeless.

There are families out there who are homeless. They are homeless because they lost their job and home for some reason.  Some are homeless because they cannot afford a house or even renting an apartment.

Cost of living may be low in North Dakota; but renting an apartment can be very expensive.  It all depends where you rent an apartment.  The nicer the area, the higher the rent.  In the slum area, rent will be cheaper, but the crime rate is higher.

Sure a single person can have roommates, but who will wants the headaches.  Sometimes personalities will clash.  I would rather not have a roommate unless it happens to be with my wife if I had one.

There are two of the reason for the homeless dilemma now.

I’m also learning that a lot of the homeless have some form of mental illness.  Because of their mental illness, it’s hard for them to hold down a job.  Some of them with mental illness becomes alcoholics.

Some of the homeless are Veterans.  Some were in the Vietnam War.  Now that war had caused some real trauma for them; thus the reason for their mental illness.  Which proved that war was a war that we shouldn’t had been in in the first place.

Some of the homeless had been in prison.  I think this is one of reason the returns rate for those returning to prison is high.  No one wants to give them a chance to move forward.  Some who had been in prison has some form of mental illness as well.

I have to admit, when the Church United moved into the old Plunkett’s building just on the outskirts of Moorhead, I was skeptical about it being there.  Like the 1%, I felt that it would be an eye sore.

My question is: where do you put them and what to do with them?

The 1% people even thinks those living in trailers is an eye sore.  They are called trailer trash.  Living in a trailer house is cheaper than a house though.

The Democrats wants to throw money at the problems but doesn’t have a solution.  They figured, if they did that and put them on welfare.  That way the taxpayers will have to suit the bill, and they will win over their votes coming election day.

The Established Republicans(1%) people, just wants to ignore the problems and maybe it will goes away.  They just wants to hide them off in a little corner.  They don’t want to deal with the problems.

I know that Jesus said in the Gospels, “You will always have the poor among you.”  It’s just getting worst that’s all.

The saying goes, “Give a man a fish and they will eat for a day.  Teach a man to fish and they will eat for a lifetime.”

We can’t keep throwing money at the problems like the Democrats would like to do.  We can’t ignore the problems either.  We need to find away to handle this dilemma before it gets even more out of hand.  I don’t have the answers to this but I know that something needs to be done.

You can’t force businesses to raise minimum wage, they have to do it on their own.  You can get them counseling to deal with their mental illness; but you can’t make them go.  Like the saying goes, “You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make them drink it.”  That is why I’m against court-ordering people to treatment.  They’ll go but they won’t get anything out of it.  They got to want to get the help to better themselves.

Years ago, people with mental illness were locked up in an asylum; so that no one would have to deal with them.  Now, it’s good to see that there are organization out there to help them to become a vibrant part of the community.

Maybe something like that can be done to help the homeless.  It may even cut down on the prison population as well.

At the same time, somehow employers needs to look at raising their wages and be willing to give them a chance.

I have to admit that can be very scary.  The big question: can you trust them?

I know that I have kind of seen the light on this homeless dilemma. My views had change a little.

 

 

For those who don’t know, we are coming up to the anniversary of the death of Elvis Presley.

Now Elvis was the King of Rock and Roll.  This blogger is paying tribute to him.

Before Elvis became famous, he was a truck driver.  He went into a recording studio to record a song for his mother.  The rest became history.

Elvis was born in Torpedo, Mississippi and raised in Memphis, Tennessee.  He had a twin brother that died.

If you look at this picture, you might think that the younger man in the military uniform was Elvis.  A lot of people thought that he looks like Elvis.  Even when he and his family went down to Memphis.  (Enough of that)

Elvis first recorded for Sun Record; along with Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Roy Orbinson.

Elvis loved his mother very much.  He even recorded “Mama likes the Roses” and That’s alright, Momma,”  for her.

When he became famous, he bought his mother a mansion in Memphis.  He named that mansion, “Graceland.”

When Elvis first started out; so did television.  He was known as being a true entertainer, that made the girls swoon.  Not only did he had the killer looks, he also knew how to shake it for them.

The first time that Elvis was seen on TV, the so-called religious leaders didn’t want the camera to show him shaking his hips.  They felt that it would too sexual.

As I mentioned in my blog, “Made for each others,”  these religious fanatic throughout history tried to control people, like Pharisees did in Jesus’s days and our government does today.

Elvis had made lots of movies in which he sang in them as well.  It was due to his manager, Col. Tom Parker.

It was while stationed in Germany when he joined the service; that he met Priscilla, who became the love of his life.  She was just a teenager, so he kept that relationship platonic until she became of age.

Some say Priscilla reminded Elvis of his mother.

Even though he dated many starlet, his true love was Priscilla.  They were married in Las Vegas.  They had a daughter, named Lisa Marie.  He was a doting father.  Lisa Marie was born in 1968.

As I mentioned earlier, the ladies just went wild for Elvis.  They loved his looks and the way he shook his hips.  Also when he  sang, it was like he was singing to them personally.  He got right down to them and sang and kissed them.

My mother was no exception for having a big crush on Elvis.  She had every records and saw every movies that Elvis ever did.  Just before Elvis died, he was in Duluth, MN.  My step-dad and brothers were up there catching smelt at the same time.  My mother was upset that she missed the opportunity of seeing Elvis perform live.  Maybe my step-dad was afraid that my mother would leave him for Elvis.

As I said in the beginning, we’re coming up to the anniversary of Elvis’s death at 42 years old.  His mother was pretty much the same age when she died.  In a way, he had this premonition that he too would die young.

Fame was just too much for him to handle.  It all happened quite fast.  He struggled with drugs as well.

Before he died, he tried to win Priscilla back.  She was the love of his life.  Actually, he was also the love of her life as well.

When he died, it was sad time in the seventies for many; especially women.  I know that my mother cried.  He died from a heart attack while in the bathroom of Graceland.

To this date, his estate is worth millions.  Lisa Marie Presley is very rich.  Sales for Elvis’s memorabilia sells like hotcakes.  Graceland is even open for tours.  The fans can also visit his grave at Graceland.

As I said earlier, Elvis was the King of Rock and Roll.  It was because of him, Rock music got it start.  Yet today’s Rock music probably doesn’t recognize him or they had forgotten about him.  He is now more link to Country Music.

Even though, these so-called religious fanatic tried to stop them from showing him shaking his hips on television; he also had gospel recording as well.  There isn’t many artist who had charted the Rock, Country, and Gospel music like Elvis did.

As said earlier, my mother had a crush on Elvis.  So I grew up listening to him.  I have to admit I even wanted to be a singer just like Elvis.  I wanted that fame and attention as well.  I even performed during lunch hours at the school.

That picture in the beginning was of my cousin, Ernie.  Some would say that he looked like Elvis.

Elvis will always be remembered.  He missed out seeing his grandkids; which he would had adored, as much as his only daughter, Lisa Marie.  Long live the KING!!

Here is one of the reason I like this time of year, one of many.

Usually around July and August, a person can get some fresh vegetables either from the garden themselves or from a vegetable stand.

There is nothing like eating fresh vegetables right out of the garden.  Plus it is healthy eating.  But you still have to be careful.

In May, after around Mother’s Day, is the time to plant a garden; at least around here.  I’m not saying that it won’t freeze.  I’m just saying it’s almost a safe bet.

Planting a garden can be hard works; but the rewards is so much better in the end.  It is fun to work out in the garden and watches everything grows.  It may be hot outside.  You may even get a little dirty.  But dirt doesn’t hurt anyone!

Some of the peoples think that they had discovered organics vegetables.  I’m here to tell you that we always had organics vegetables.

There are people who put fertilizers and chemicals on the garden to help it grow and to keep the pest away.

Let me tell you: those chemicals in our pesticides and fertilizers is poison.  They makes the fruits and vegetables that we eat unhealthy and strictly bad for you.

The best fertilizer is true manure or none at all.  Growing up on the farm, my step-dad never bought those fertilizer.  He either used manure from the cattle or the chickens we had; or he didn’t used any fertilizer.  There was enough nutrition in the soil.  We never used pesticide to keeps the pest away.  We never sprayed that poison.  Sometimes, we will set traps to catch rabbits and gophers.

I have a cousin who has a compost for his garden.  That is another more natural way in planting a garden.

There is one thing I do agree with Al Gore and Global Warming, and that is all these chemicals that is put either in the ground when planting a garden or sprayed on our fruits and vegetables is actually causing a lot of damage to this planet.

When it rains, the chemicals runs off and into other areas to pollute.  There is a small lake in Rollag that is highly polluted because the farmers used fertilizer on their field and it had ran off into that lake, polluting it.  Even the Red River is polluted because of all the chemicals put into our soils and it runs into the river.  The strange thing is, we drink out of the Red River.  Sure, there is chemicals to purify the water we drink.  Yet it is still poison!

This is one of the reason I was against the Dakota Pipeline being built in North Dakota.  If that pipeline was to bust, the oil in it will pollute our soil so bad that farmers cannot plant a decent crop.  Remember, next time Sen. John Hoevan is up for reelection, he voted for the pipeline; so vote him out of office with a big old thanks for poisoning us.

People were healthier years ago when they ate fresh vegetables.  They didn’t have all the chemicals we now have.  I’m not saying they lived longer.  When they died, they died of a heart attack due to good old fashion hard work.

With all these poisons from the chemicals in the fertilizers and pesticides, no wonder we are becoming sick.  A lot of these poisons caused cancer.  People are becoming so immune to all preservative that they cannot fathom.  There is so much preservative in all of our food that we eat.  It’s downright unhealthy.

When you buy can vegetables in a store, they are so unhealthy.

I loved going out into the garden and getting fresh vegetables and just eating it right there.  I do not like cook peas that you buy in a can; because they are just too mushy.  Yet, I loved eating fresh peas from the garden.

When a person get some fresh vegetables from right out of the garden, just shake the dirt off and eat.  Some people think, you can’t do that.  You need to wash you food.  A little dirt doesn’t hurt anybody.  I’m still alive and healthy; and I had a little dirt on vegetables that I ate right out of the garden.

When you are fighting other animals for your fruits and vegetables, you know that you are eating good healthy food.

When you get zucchini from a garden they should be a decent size.  When you buy zucchini in a store, they are so small, it doesn’t pay.  Yet there are people who do not knows how to fix zucchini; so they buys them from the store rather than a vegetables stand.  They just don’t realize that zucchini gets to be big and long.  You can bake zucchini bread, fry, and sautéed.

I remember as a teenager, my mother would fixed BLT for lunch on Saturday with the fresh lettuce and tomatoes from the garden.  That was so delicious!  My mother would either canned or freeze the vegetables so that we can have fresh vegetables during the winter.  She would even can homemade vegetables soup.  Then during the winter, all she needed to do was add the meat or heat it up by itself.  I’m getting hungry just thinking about it.

Eating salads is good for you.  Yet when you add the salad dressing, that what makes it fattening.  I’m looking for other ways to eat salad at home without using salad dressing.  It’s hard because it needs some flavors.

I love this time of year because I can eat more fresh vegetables.  Yet I’m not limiting myself in eating healthy food.  I have been finding some organic food that I can fix and be healthy.  I have now ate Quinoa, couscous, and Tabouleh.  I even bought some Farro.  I’m not saying that I eat healthy everyday; but I’m working at it daily.  I even put 2 Tablespoon of organic apple cider vinegar in a glass of cold water.  That is suppose to help prevent kidney stones and help curb appetites.

So if you don’t have a garden check out your local vegetables stand.  Make sure the vegetables you buy isn’t sprayed with pesticides and there was no chemicals in the fertilizer.  Make sure that either the fertilizer was natural or none at all.

You want to eat healthy but you don’t want to eat poison that comes from our pesticides and fertilizer.  If the government wants to do something right, they should banned those pesticides and fertilizers.

Eat your vegetables!!  They are good for you as long as they don’t have these poison chemicals on them.  My mother always made sure that us kids ate our vegetables.  My real father hated when my mother bought me vegetables with my meal.

Kids who are reading this are going ewe.  Vegetables will help you grow big and strong.

Those of you who have been reading my blogs faithfully, knows that there are blogs that I make reference to George Orwell’s book, “1984.”  Well, I feel that I should come clean with you all and show why I’m so fascinated with that book.  I want to be someone that you can believe in.  I don’t want to steer you wrong.

Let us begin way back when George Orwell first published his book, “1984.”  It was 1948 when Mr. George Orwell wrote that book.  So in a way it was a play of words.  Think about it: 1948/1984.  Do you see it?

When George Orwell first wrote that book, he had written it as a mere science fiction.  It was not meant to be a prophecy.  That is just coincident.

Mr. George Orwell hails from England.  Thus 1984 takes place in England.  It was written shortly after WW2.

If you know your history, you should know that Hitler was in charge of Germany and was conquering Europe.

Now Hitler was a Socialist/Nazi.

The lead character was a rebel who was out fighting big Government; which in the book was big brother.

Now let us flash forward to the 1984.

It was the year that I graduated from high school.  My high school English teacher, Mr. Nelson, made a recommendation to the Seniors.  He said, “Since you all are graduating this year, if anyone will read the book, “1984”, and do a report on it for extra credit; it will help your grades.

Now Mr. Nelson sometimes had weird taste in reading materials.  Some of his books that he chose was hard to like.

I have to admit, I was game to go ahead and read that book.

During the year, 1984, the book, “1984” went back to the #1 spot on the bestseller list.  I guess people felt drawn to read that book; just to see if there is some truth to that book.  It became more than just science fiction then.  It became almost like a prophecy.

I mean, some of the things that George Orwell was talking about wasn’t quite happening yet.  The signs were there for that book to come true.

The biggest threat in 1984 was Russia and Communist. What kept the prophecy from being a reality was Ronald Reagan.  He was the last great Republican President.  Some say that Reagan was responsible for weakening the old Soviet Union stronghold.  We all know that it was Reagan who told Gorbachev, tear down that wall.  He was referring to the Berlin Wall.

Do you see the connection so far?

Now if you were to read “1984” today, you might be deathly afraid.  A book that once started out as mere science fiction had somehow turned into a downright prophecy.

Some say that a person should also read George Orwell’s book, “Animals Farm.”  Both of those books seems to be getting it right with today’s society.  They are not the only reading that seems to nailed the problems going on in today’s world.

A person should read the “Left Behind” series.  Is it fiction or prophecy?

I say to help better understand it; I recommend studying the book of Revelation.

In Revelation, as in “Left Behind,” “1984”, and “Animals Farm”, the theme was one world government and big brother is watching.  Big brother is the fake news media.

Like I said earlier, “1984” took place in England.  Now what is going on right now in Europe?  Europe is slowly becoming a one world government.  That is something that Adolf Hitler strived for during WW2.   He had failed, but his legacy lives on.

In “1984”, United States wasn’t mentioned.  Yet during Pres. Obama’s Presidency, he was striving to bring the United States into that one world government.

I think what keeps United States from becoming part of the one world government is that the American people still loves and stands for freedom.  I believe that is why Donald Trump was elected because of his promise to make America Great again.

He was recently criticize for telling the Prime Minister of England that they should drop out of the Euro-union.

The lead character in “1984”, is very much similar to me.  He hated and feared big government.  He was a rebel, like I am with my blogs, and Trump is a rebel himself.

I’m so glad that the whole prophecy of that book hasn’t quite come true so far.  Because if it did, the government and fake news media would try to shut me down or maybe have me killed.

That was what happened with the lead character in “1984”.  Big Brother tried to stop him but if I remembered correctly, they failed.

That was also what happened with the lead character in “Left Behind” as well.

Remember in “Left Behind” and Revelation, it was the anti-Christ.  We all know what happens to the anti-Christ?  The devil is defeated in the end when Jesus Christ returned again.  There shall be a new heaven and a new earth.

So if I seems to be fascinated with “1984” it’s only because I’m against big government and organized religion controlling our every moves.  That was one of the reason I became a Reagan Republican. That is also one of the reason I voted for Donald Trump and why I still like him today.  I’m against the Establishment.

For those who probably doesn’t know, the Drudge Report started out small.  They had a story that broke wide open and today they are very popular globally.

My blogs may be small now, but who knows when it will goes viral.

For as long as I can, I will continue writing my blogs.  No one will knows who I will goes after next.

Before we all heard of Al Gore and his so-called “Global Warning,”  there was his wife at the time, now ex-wife, Tipper Gore.  You may ask who is she?

You know those pesky warning labels on the CD’s, cassettes, and records?  Well you can thank Tipper Gore for that.

During the late ’70’s and early ’80’s she fought to put warning labels on the music we listened to.  The warning labels was to warn parents of the type of music their kids are listening to.  If the music has too much sexual or violence contexts a warning label was put on it.

It goes to show that Al and Tipper Gore were made for each other.  They were 2 peas in a pod.  They both are Socialist, who wants to control every aspect of our lives.

During that time that she was fighting to put warning labels on the music we listened to, singers were stopping to put a stop to her crazy ideas.  There were too many singers to name.

There is one singer that I will mentioned though.  You will be surprised to hear this too.  That singer was the late John Denver; and his song was, “Rocky Mountain High.”

Tipper Gore felt that song promotes drugs, because of the getting the high part.  When really, that song was all about getting high on nature.  John Denver was a clean cut folks singer.  “Rocky Mountain High” was pop folks song of the ’70’s  It was about enjoying the beauty of nature and the Rocky Mountain.  It was about Colorado. Where in the world does it have to deal with getting high on drugs?

So many times people would misinterpret songs before actually listening to them.  They will think the worse of them or vice a versa.

There is a song by Florida/Georgia Line called “Holy.”  No it’s not a Gospel song!  Holy is an acumen for “high on loving you.”  They did have a song though that certain people felt was inappropriate though.  That song was “Sun Daze.”   I listened to it and didn’t find anything inappropriate about it.  It goes to show that some people will make a mountain out of a molehill.

This blog is about warning labels.  Some warning labels are very much needed.  Yet putting warning labels on what we listened to is a form of controlling us even more.

What gets me is this?  These so-called religious leaders don’t like it when the Government tries to control them.  Yet, they are so much in favor of controlling others.  They back up Tipper Gore fight for warning labels.

Throughout history these religious leaders try to control the people that our Socialist Government tries to do as well.  They wants you to live according to their rules.  In the Bible, Jesus called them self-righteous hypocrite.

As I said in my blog on the Salem witchcraft trial, it was the religious leaders of that days that were persecuting and burning witches that they accuse of witchcraft.

During the roaring ’20’s, it was the religious leaders who was responsible of the prohibition on alcohol.  You know what happened there.  Crime rose under people  such as Al Capone, Babyface Nelson, and many others.

Then in the ’50’s when television first came out at the same time as Elvis started out.  When he was on TV, the religious leaders didn’t want TV to show him shaking his hips.  They felt it was too sexual.

Now look how far we have come.  I mean today’s female singers when they perform live or on TV, they will wear practically nothing.  It doesn’t leaves anything to the imagination.

So you see all putting warning labels on,  did was desensitize us.  We should knows what is right and wrong, if we were taught right growing up.  Because we are becoming a  desensitize nation, we are losing the touch of what is right or wrong; thus making us easy target for the Socialist Government to control every aspect of our lives.

Now back to Al and Tipper Gore.  If you remember the 2000’s election, Al Gore tried to disassociate himself from the Clintons.  The topic was family values, and that was one of the reason why George W. Bush was elected.

Anyway, during the Democratic convention, both Al and Tipper Gore made a big scene to prove their point.  They practically made out during the convention after Al Gore had gotten the nomination to run for President again Bush.

Now look at them.  What happened to their so-called marriage?  They are no longer a couple.  Al Gore tried to show that he was nothing like Bill Clinton.  Well, the truth came out and he too was having an affair on Tipper.

As bad a President as George W. Bush was, I have to admit it could had been worse under Al Gore. I believe that he would had done nothing after 9/11.  Him and Tipper would finds ways to control us even more.  They  would had been another Obama.

Al Gore strongly believe in global warning; which I feel is a hoax made up by him and his people.

Tipper Gore would had continued looking for ways that she could control us as well.  She wouldn’t just stop at putting warning labels on what we listened to.

They as well as all Socialist believe that we should do as they say not as they do.  Al Gore complain about global warning and yet he stills fly around in his fancy jet.

So the next time you buy a CD and you sees the warning labels on them; just thanks Tipper Gore and the religious leaders of the late ’70’s and early ’80’s.

 

As you probably heard already, that blowhard Ed Schultz had passed away.  You only heard part of the story.  As Paul Harvey would say, “Here is the rest of the story.”

The reason for this picture is for a reference to the red hair.

You heard people say, “People with red hair is known to have a temper.”  Some say people with red hair can be a hot head.

The news media did actually admit that he can be a hot head.  But they didn’t admit that he was a blow hard.

I was in high school back in Hawley, MN; when I had my first encounter with Mr. Ed Shultz.  His dark red hair stood out in my memory.

The reason why he came to Hawley High School was for a pep rally, because the Hawley Nuggets; either football or basketball were doing very well that season.

I also remembered that Ed Schultz wasn’t very nice.  He was pretty much a jerk.

They failed to acknowledge his ex-wife, Maureen Zimmerman.  She was the mother of their son, pro-golfer, David Schultz.

I first met Maureen Zimmerman when I was a teenager during the summer. Before starting my summer job, we went to seminar where we would meet up with prominent people and interview them.

Now Maureen Zimmerman was the total opposite of Ed Schultz.  She was so nice.  The best advice that she gave me was, “get your foot in the door.  It doesn’t matter where you start.  Once you get in, you can work your way up.”

Both Maureen Zimmerman and Ed Schultz lived in Texas before moving back home in Fargo, ND.  They worked together at KTHI before moving to WDAY.

I heard that Ed Schultz was abusive to Maureen Zimmerman.

Someone as sweet as her, why did she put up with him?  They were total opposite.  It goes to show that opposite attract.

I’ll never forget this one evening that I was watching WDAY news.  You can tell that they were having trouble with their marriage.  It was toward the end of the broadcast. Ed was talking and Maureen just gave him the look.  The look I’m talking about here was: as if she was saying, “Oh shut the …up!!”

Shortly after that news report, Maureen Zimmerman left WDAY and went to work for Concordia College as a professor.  Their marriage also fell apart at the same time.

It goes to show, that a person shouldn’t be involved with their co-workers.  It only leaves bad blood.  If that relationship falls apart, it’s hard to work them.  They both denied it though.

I was working at the Fargo Country Club and lot of the members and staff could not stand Ed Schultz.  They adored Maureen Zimmerman though.

I even heard that some of the people were very much upset with their son, David.  The reason: he transferred from Shanley High School to Fargo South to be a star football player.  The only reason why he got that position was because who he was.  So you can say there was probably jealousy.

It goes to show, when it comes to the rich and famous, it’s who you knows that get ahead in life.  The poor working class people has to struggle daily to get ahead.  Whereas the rich kids get a cushy job at the country club or is easily considered first for a job that you may be more qualified for.

I have more respect for young people who actually work hard and pull themselves up by the boots than I do for those who have everything handed to them with a silver spoon.  Then when you inherit, you earn it.

Now back to Ed Schultz.

He was a Strong Republican with a conservative voice on radio for WDAY.  He had a fishing show also on WDAY.  Dana Mock was right to say that Ed was a role model.

Ed Schultz even went to work for KFGO talk radio.  He even contemplate running for congress because he was upset with Washington.  In a way, you could say that he was another Donald Trump.

He was always a blowhard and real hot head.  Even when he met his second wife.  It was her that got him to change from being a Conservative Republican to a Leftist.  That was when he went to MSNBC and his fame really took off.

Some will say, “did he sell himself to the highest bidder and turn coat?”

It goes to show that he had some get up and go.  If you want something bad enough; you cannot be afraid to fight for it.

Am I’m saying that I will sell out to the highest bidder if my blogs ever goes viral and I too become famous?  I don’t know if I will ever become a Leftist.

So in a way both Ed Schultz and Maureen Zimmerman were good examples for me.

Before Ed Schultz died he was working for Russian radio/TV.

After Trump was elected President, the faked news and the Democrats cried foul and is still trying to say that the Russian rigged our election.

Why isn’t anyone saying, “Did the Russian have Ed Schultz killed?”

This sounds just as stupid as what they are saying about the Russian rigging the 2016 election for Trump to win the election.
