It’s that time of year again! Halloween is approaching. It will be here this coming Saturday. So I’m going to be talking once again about another good scary movie for you to check out this coming Halloween night.
How many have seen the movie, “Exorcist?” This movie is up there with Carrie by Stephen King. Carrie starred Sissy Spacek. This movie is not about Carrie though. It’s about Exorcist starring, Linda Blair. How many have seen that movie?
Another movie similar to Exorcist is the Omen, starring, Gregory Peck who secretly adopts an orphaned infant named Damien to replace his own biological child, who died shortly after birth in Rome. As Damien grows into childhood, a series of bizarre and gruesome deaths surrounds the family. Gregory Peck’s character eventually learned from a priest that his adopted son is actually the prophesied Antichrist. When that movie came out, the name Damien became the worse name for a boy.
Carrie starred Sissy Spacek as a shy socially isolated teenager who is severely bullied at school and emotionally abused by her fanatically religious mother. After being tricked and drenched in pig’s blood during her senior prom, Carrie snaps and unleashes her telekinetic powers on her classmates, later destroying her home and confronting her mother in a fatal showdown.
Let’s get to the real reason for this blog and the cross I’m holding. In the movie, “Exorcist,” Linda Blair’s character is possessed by the devil. Two Catholic priests-father Damien Karras and expert exorcist Father Lankester Merrin conduct a harrowing exorcism. This was widely regarded as one of the scariest and most influential horror movies ever made.
This movie was so influential that even Days of Our Lives did a version of the Exorcism, when Marlena Evans was possessed by the devil. Another daytime soap, “Passion” did another somewhat version of “Exorcist” as well.
Some of the scenes from the “Exorcist,” consisted of Linda Blair floating above her bed, her head spin completely around and her eyes was very creepy. That’s not the worse of the movie!! I think the worse part of the movie was when Linda Blair’s character threw up and it was like SPLIT PEA SOUP. Ever since I seen that movie and that particular scene, to this day seeing SPLIT PEA SOUP gross me out, and I will refused to eat it. Believe me, it’s not because I dislike eating peas. I even had to fixed SPLIT PEAS SOUP for a class. I had to have someone else to taste it to make sure I did alright. I’m grossing myself out with this. Let us get off this subject and get into the reason for this blog, shall we!
The reason for the picture of the cross was because was used to ward off evil spirits in such things as exorcism, just like HOLY WATER. You see, HOLY WATER burns anyone who is possessed by the devil. Even the cross and HOLY WATER are used against vampires as well. This is why, when you entered the Catholic church you would do the sign of the cross after dipping your fingers into HOLY WATER .
EXORCISM: is the religious or spiritual practice of evicting or driving out malevolent spirits, demons, or entities from a person, object, or location that is believed to be possessed.
Another movie on this line is ” Poltergeist,” produced by Stephen Spielberg and starred Craig T. Nelson, Jobeth Williams, the late Heather O’Rourke. In that movie, they were evicting the evil spirit or ghosts from a house that was built on a burial ground. And yes there is such thing as ghost. There spirit lives. Some have seen spirits or felt spirits presence. I talked about this in past Halloween blog; so I won’t go into detail on this subject. Even I had experienced seeing or feeling these spirits. I have some incense that I bought at the street fair this year for my apartment. They are WHITE SAGE and LAVENDAR. It’s used to ward off any unwanted spirits that may linger in my apartment and/or the building I live in; since it’s an old historical building.
My question is: does anyone still practice EXORCISM anymore in the Catholic church?
The Catholics Church still continues to perform solemn exorcisms, though they are rare and strictly regulated. An ordained priest can only perform one with the express permission of a local bishop. Before any spiritual rite is approved, the church requires a thorough medical and psychological evaluation to rule out mental illness, trauma, or neurological disorders. Priests estimate that the vast majority of people seeking help are dealing with mental health or trauma issues rather than actual demonic possession. The majority of global exorcism or deliverance ministries are performed in Pentecostal and Charismatic Christian churches.
Back during the Salem Witchcraft trial in the 1600’s people were accused of being witches and having relationships with the devil.
I remembered a few years ago, when I went to family camp at Lake Geneva in Alexandria, Minnesota. There was an incident involving this that happened. It was rainy outside on a Friday and the pastors were called out to pray over an individual who seems to be possessed by the devil at a camp revival service.
The reason for this topic for a Halloween blog coincide with what is going on in the United States right now . It seems that people have lost their ever loving mind. Those on the Left seems to be suffering with TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME(TDS). People seems to be crazy, out of their mind! It’s almost like they are possessed by the devil and need an exorcism. This is not normal! Is this the side effect for the Covid vaccine?
I’m almost in favor of reopening the mental asylum, if it wasn’t for the fact the reason why they were closed in the first place was because of the immoral things that were done there in the name of science.
Those who are suffering with TDS are crazier than those who actually have mental illness.
You tell me, do we need an EXORCISM or reopen the insane asylum for those who had lost their frigging mind?
