Self-Righteous vs. Socialist

Coming up in Fargo, North Dakota in June is the City Mayor election. There’s not much good to choose from. After voting, person will feel so dirty; that they will have to take a shower to clean the filth and stench off your body. The candidates for mayors are: Josh Boschee, Michelle Turnberg, Denise Kolpack, Sekou Sirleaf, Dave Piepkorn. Out of these 5 candidates for mayor, Josh Boschee and Dave Piepkorn are the top 2, and both of them in my book is not worthwhile. Piepkorn is Self-righteous and Boschee is a Socialist.

The last time that Fargo had a decent mayor was with Dennis Walaker. He was the mayor of Fargo, North Dakota from from 2006 until his death on Dec. 2, 2014. Before becoming the mayor, he worked for the city of Fargo as an operation manager during the time of the ’97 flood. He was given credit in keeping the city of Fargo from being flooded, unlike Grand Forks. He was the people’s mayor and well like by many. He had common sense not only when he was mayor but when he the operation manager for the city. The people of Fargo knew that he was the right person to be Fargo next mayor.

After his passing, the city of Fargo had a special election for mayor. The 2 candidates were Tim Mahoney and Brad Wimmer; and both didn’t live up to Walaker’s standards. The only reason Mahoney won the first time was because he was deputy mayor under Walaker. You had to plug your nose when you voted for either of them.

The similarity between Mahoney and George Bush Sr was the fact that both Reagan and Walaker was popular enough for them to run on their coattails.

Dave Piepkorn is the Fargo city commissioner . He’s a career politician and comes across as someone who is very self-righteous. He wasn’t taking the city debt seriously. He said that the liberal overspending for years. He knows that there is a homeless problem but doesn’t want to do anything about it. He’s so cheap that when birds fly over his head, they go cheap-cheap. Yet, he is all for building buildings the city doesn’t need.

Josh Boschee is a career politician If elected, he would be the second open gay mayor of Fargo behind Jon Lindgren. I have nothing against the fact that he is gay. It’s the fact that he want to passed some Socialist agenda.

Michelle Turnberg made a statement that the engagement center for the homeless was distasteful for downtown Fargo. Plus, she was a former news reporter for CBS news in Fargo. The way I feel about our news media, they are as untrustworthy as career politician and weatherman.

They want to change the city Fargo into Minneapolis, as they changed Minneapolis into Chicago. Even to the point of electing a Socialist mayor like in a lot of these major cities such as Minneapolis, Chicago, New York City, and Seattle to name just as a few. Those Socialist mayors have destroyed those cities. Those cities are sanctuary city. They have high crime and homelessness. All they want to do is raised taxes. They want to defund the police.

There isn’t much of a choice to vote for in this mayor election. Much like in 2004 Presidential election with George W. Bush and John Kerry. I didn’t felt like voting then, both candidate made me sick to even think of voting for either of them. It was between hell and high water when it came to voting.

What the city of Fargo needs is another good candidate like Walaker to run for mayor. They talked about the city of Fargo being in debt but yet they choose to build things they don’t need. They say that there is a homeless crisis but just want to shove the problems under the rug.

There’s a surprising turn around in the Mayor’s race in Los Angeles. A former reality star, Spencer Pratt is doing better than expected in his bid for mayor. He’s not a career politician and so it goes to show that the American people are fed up with these career politicians who thinks they have all the answers but no real solutions to the problems.

It goes to show that we mustn’t underestimate anyone. Those who are underestimated can be the one who can actually win. People underestimated Donald Trump in 2016, and looked what happened. People in Minnesota underestimated Jesse Ventura to become governor. They put all their money into Humphry on his name alone. They even underestimated Ross Perot in 1992, when he took more votes than expected; even though Bill Clinton won as the lesser of 3 evil.

There’s those minor candidates running for mayor of Fargo, but not much is known about them. They are being quietly shut out by the outspoken ones. It may take a miracle for someone better than Piepkorn and Boschee to be elected mayor of Fargo.

Fargo doesn’t need someone who is self-righteous again like Bruce Furness. Yet at the same time the city doesn’t need Socialist like they have in Minneapolis, Chicago, New York City, and Seattle as mayor either. We all have seen what those cities have become and it isn’t good. I hope that Spencer Pratt can spoil an upset in LA, so they can maybe turn itself around. I also hope that Fargo doesn’t become like those cities.

Fargo is big city with a small town feel. Or as some will say, a small city with a big heart. I don’t want to see Fargo become like Minneapolis or those other cities. How about you? I don’t know if I really want to vote the Fargo Mayors election. Are you with me on that?
