Do you listen to Hip Hop music? We’ll take a look into Hip Hop music in this blog; but first when Hip Hop first came about, they faced criticism much like Rock and Roll did in the 50’s.
When Rock music first came out, the Christians leaders came out saying that Rock music is of the devil. When Elvis Presley first performed on the Ed Sullivan Show, they were only allowed to show his top half. They wasn’t allowed to show Elvis shaking his waist.
Some churches denomination wouldn’t allow dancing because they felt that it was sinning or led to sinning. Yet at the same time, these churches were ok with people dancing in the aisle praising the Lord. Go figured!!
Hip Hop music started in the late 70’s. Hip-hop originated in the predominantly African American economically depressed South Bronx section of New York City in the late 1970’s. The first major hip-hop artist was DJ Kool Herc (Clive Campbell. It was all about rhyming and having the beat. That all changed though.
Hip-hop was considered to be gangster music. These male singers would wear their pants down low showing off their underwear; which became the style today.
Hip-hop music would promote violence in the streets and especially against the police. If you listen to that music, they would talked about killing cops. A lot of these Rap artists were heavy into guns and wasn’t afraid to use them to protect their territory and their women.
These women would dressed very sexual, exposing themselves from their breasts to their ass. Some of these women would have big ass and love it. Like the song goes, I like big ass I cannot lie. Even female rappers would dressed inappropriately. It wasn’t about talent but rather looks to these rappers.
These rappers will come across as being racist as well; much like the TV series, “The Jefferson.” Those on the Left may criticized Republicans as being racist but if you ever listen to a rap song, it’s nothing but derogatory comments about the blacks (which I won’t say here because I think you get the message).
When hip-hop music first came out, it wasn’t as bad as it is today. It’s just that people had a hard time to accept that kind of music, just like when the good old Rock and Roll came out and faced their own persecution. I mean, there is one Hip-hop song, I did enjoyed and that was by the Beastie Boys called, “You got the Right to Fight to Party.”
When did it all go bad for Hip hop?
Both President George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton criticized gangsta rap as, “The reason why rap is under attack is because it exposes all the contradictions of American culture. What started out as an underground art form has become a vehicle to expose a lot of critical issues that are not usually discussed in a political system that never intends to deal with inner city chaos.
I don’t know about you but I like the old time Rock and Roll. If you agree with me, I want to hear from you or pressed like at the end of the blog. If you agree with me that Hip hop leads to violence against cops, let me know. If you agree that they are racist and sexually explicit and sexually exploit themselves and others.
