Looking Passed Issues

In the first 2 parts of the series of “Be a Voice,” I showed how anyone can be a voice no matter who they are. The least likely person can have a voice and make a difference. It doesn’t matter who you are or what your issues may be.

This week in part 3 of this series, I will show how we must look passed a person issues, and see them how they are being used as a voice.

I mentioned that some people finds it difficult to see Donald Trump as being a voice for the American people. I even mentioned last week, Moses was a voice and chosen to lead the Israelites into the Promised Land by God. I mentioned that he had an anger problem and a speech impediment. I even mentioned how I too am a voice for the American people through my blog. Even though, I’m just an average joe with a speech impediment as well.

There was a country singer, Mel Tillis; when he talks he would stutter, but when he sang, you wouldn’t even know that he had a speech impediment as well.

Then there was one of the great pop singer, Whitney Houston. She had one of the beautiful voice when she sang. She could sing a phone book and it would sounds beautiful. But she had some issues that led to her early demised.

Whitney Houston was nicknamed, “the voice.” She was regarded as one of the greatest singers in history. She shared a birthday with me, born August 9, 1963 in Newark, NJ. She died February 11, 2012 at the age of 48 years old of Coronary artery disease because of drugs. She was a teen model on the cover of Seventeen in 1981. She was discovered by Clive Davis, groomed as a gospel singer. She is a first cousin to Dionne Warwick. She married Bobby Brown and they had a daughter. Now Bobby Brown was the one who got her hooked on drugs.

In a Diane Sawyer’s interview, Whitney Houston said, “Crack is cheap. I make too much money to ever smoke crack. Crack is whack.”

One of Whitney Houston biggest hit song was a Dolly Parton hit song. The song was, “I will always Love You.” Because of Whitney singing that song, it was able to become a big pop song as well as a country song by Dolly Parton. I couldn’t imagine anyone else doing that song beside her and Dolly Parton. Vince Gill did it but wasn’t as good.

There isn’t one pop singer who can light a match to Whitney Houston’s powerful voice. The closest one was Fantasia, when she was a contestant on American Idol. She had her issues as well.

Then there is singer from Great Britian, Susan Collins. When you looked at her, She was nothing to look at; but she had such a beautiful voice when she sang for Simon Cowell.

It goes to show that anyone can be a voice for the people. King David was a man after God’s own heart; even though he had sinned when he slept with Batheba, a married woman at the time. He even had her husband killed in battle.

It doesn’t matter what’s in our past or what our issues may be, we can still be used to make a difference.

I know of a Nazarene pastor, Reverend Keith Bundy, who was blind. He was a brilliant preacher.

Some may not like the way I talk because of my speech impediment.

Don’t laugh or judge someone by their personality or how they may looks on the outside. Who knows, by inviting someone who you may not approve of, you may be inviting an angel.

Man will looks at the outward appearance but God looks at the heart. He knows what is in our heart. We may not approve of certain people but they could be the voice we all need in this time.

You are made just as God made you. You are beautiful and you have a voice that can make a difference.

Trump is seen as part of the problem, making it his biggest obstacles to be seen as a voice for the American people.

Let your voice be heard loud and clear! It doesn’t matter who you are or what issues you may have. I’m making my voice heard through my blogs. You will either like it or hate it.
