Have you ever noticed that there isn’t anything good on tv anymore? Tv is not worth turning on. It doesn’t even pay to have cable anymore; even as everything is so damn high.

When I was young, there was only 4 networks on air; until the ’80’s when Fox television hit the airwaves. Most people had black and white; except for those who can afford to have color tv. Some have had antenna on the roof of the house; but most had rabbit ears on top of the tv. The rabbit ears had tin foils wrapped around to helped with the reception. There was no remote. You had to get up to change the channels. Usually, those sitting on the floor closest to the tv was the remote. Sometimes, the knob for the channel was broken; so you had to used a tweezer to change the channel, or leave it on at the channel all the time.

They had good wholesome tv shows back then; not like today. The whole family could sit down together to watch tv without being disgusted. It was family time. The living room became the family room.

Saturday night was a big family night in front of the tv for my family; since it was the only night my mother had off from work. We had the tv set on to ABC network for their lineup of T.G Hooker, Love Boat and Fantasy Island. My mother had a crush on William Shatner who played T.G. Hooker.

On Friday night, we would watch Incredible Hulk, Dukes of Hazzard and Dallas. On Sunday night, we would watch the Wonderful World of Disney back before they gone Woke and actually had good wholesome tv shows. I developed my first crush on Farrah Faucet because of watching her on Charley’s Angels. Later on, I developed a crushed on Linda Evans when she was on Dynasty. I soon discovered her on her first series, Big Valley; which also co-starred Lee Major from Six Million Dollars Man and the Fall Guy. He was also married to Farrah Faucet.

We even enjoyed watching the Brady Bunch, Partridge Family and Gillagan’s Island, even the reruns.

Some of the tv shows that were made back then couldn’t be made today. All in the Family, The Jeffersons, Sanford and Son, and even Marriage with Children couldn’t be made today because of the controversy. People today would be too offended by those shows now days. They were wholesome tv shows!

Now days, the tv shows are so raunchy and unwholesome. They have more reality shows on tv such as The Bachelor, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, and Real Housewives. I have not seen those shows and don’t care to. People on those shows are just cashing in on their 5 minutes of fame in hoping to remain famous.

They even remade some shows and simply destroyed it. Roseanne made a reboot and then when Roseanne made a comment, she was fired from her own show. They killed off her character and changed it to the Connors. They simply destroyed the show in the process.

Another reboot is the show, Wonder Years. The original version was way better than the remake. The original show was a family show; whereas the remake, Hollywood chose to make a statement instead of focusing on the true storyline.

Now that Fox News fired Tucker Carlson from his highest rating show, there is no real reason to watch Fox news anymore at his old time slot. Because of this, I’m looking at getting rid of my cable. It’s such a hassle to get rid of to save money.

With technology now so complicated, a person have to be an engineer or an IT person just to adjust your tv to get rid of cable. If you use the Firestick, you need a WIFI just to hook it up. It’s not set up for common everyday folks to be able to watch even local network.

Don’t they realize with this new technology with our tv, it makes it easier for the Government and even China to spy on us?

Watching tv is supposed to be a way to escape the cares of the world. Now it’s best to shut the boob tube off and read a good book; and not on Kindle either. To read an actual book.

With all this advance technology, nothing works like they’re supposed to. Nothing is made to last. They are made to buy instead. A person has more problems with equipment breaking down now more than ever. They fixed one thing and wreck something else in the process.

No wonder, there are people who hate John Deere and Ford? You can’t fixed things yourself, you have to take it in for repair or buy a new one when it breakdown. Not everyone is an engineer or an IT guy. Not everyone has a college degree. The older generation is being left behind because of technology.

If I was more technologically, I could maybe do a vlog along with my blog; but I’m not. I know enough but not enough to advance my blog.

I got an indoor antenna and is in the process of installing it so I can get rid of my cable to save some money. Wish me luck!!

Can’t find anything good on tv? Turn it off!! Sit down to read a good book instead!

This month was all about they don’t make things like they used to in a month long series. If you enjoyed this series, let me know.

My dad was a hard man built strong like this corn stock he’s standing next to. As you can see he was proud of his corn.

Life made him into the man he was. He didn’t have the easiest life. He’s only had an eighth grade education. He was a veteran. He always says, “join the military, it will make a man out of you.” For the first few years of his life he was in an orphanage that was rough for a young boy. All because back then when his birth mother had him, she was a single mother. At that time it was unheard of to be a single mother. His adopted mother took him in for her husband and also since he was related to them from a distance. He grew up during the Great Depression and the Dirty 30’s.

He was a Conservative but never politically active. He was against big government. For some reasons, he hardly took a bath and he smelled like it too. He wasn’t big on getting an education; but rather common sense. He always says, “A person can be book smart but not street smart.”

As you can see, the corn stock that he’s standing next to is a little taller than him. The reason for that was because we had good soil on the farm to grow a garden and crops. He was against using chemicals in the ground as fertilizer. He believed in natural fertilizer.

We raised Black Angus because like him, they were sturdy and easy keepers.

He built the house we lived in himself with his own sawmill and woods. The house wasn’t anything fancy but it was a home. There was no need for the person who bought the farm to destroy the house. It needed minor repairs because of the years it stood, the test of time.

Too bad they don’t build houses or anything like that anymore! Everything is so cheaply made but expensive to buy. Things are not built to last-they are built to buy!

He didn’t care for Ford automobiles because they weren’t made like they were when Henry Ford was alive. He worked for Steiger tractors but didn’t much care for them and wouldn’t allow them on the farm. The reason was because he saw how they were made. He hated Steigers as much as some hated John Deere.

With only an eighth grade education, he was a self-taught man. He was an engineer without the education. He built our wood stove that heated the house and even built one for someone else. He used older vehicles to create something out of it, such as his welding truck or wagon to haul hay and stuff. With the all that he created, our family could had been better off if he had patented it. Since he wasn’t a people person and hated big government, he chose not to patent what he created.

He loved the great outdoors, like hunting and fishing.

He may not fathered me but I was still his son. He raised me as his own. Like my mother would say, “any man can father a child, but it takes a real man to be a dad.” He was more of dad to me than my real father. I may not have his last name; but then again I don’t have my real father’s last name as well.

Don’t let anyone tell you that a step-parent doesn’t have rights to step-children. There are people who believed that too.

What man would take on the responsibility in raising another man’s child? It’s a huge responsibility.

I am the man I am today because of how I was raised. If you don’t like it; that’s just way too bad. My dad taught me a lot about life and things. He taught me how to tie my shoes, zipped my jacket how to fish, of just a few things.

My folks are gone now. They made 40 years together. It wasn’t no bed of roses for any of us, especially mom. Dad wasn’t perfect; but he was more of a dad than my real father. When I die, I want to be cremated and buried my ashes with my folks in Rollag; rather than be buried in Jamestown by my real father or in Casselton by my grandmother.

They don’t make men like my dad anymore. God threw away the mold when he created my dad. He was one-of-kind. We had our problems as all kids have with their dads; but I’m proud to have him as a dad. He wasn’t perfect. He had his flaws, as well as his good points.

I’m thankful he was my dad because there are children who doesn’t have a dad around to help raise them. There are many children who are born to a single mother and fathers who wants nothing to do with their own child. Now that’s a crying shame, especially the way our nation has become.

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there who took on the responsibility of raising another man’s child. Thank you for stepping up to the plate! I’m glad that my dad had stood up to the plate to be a real man, a real dad to me.

When you go to the movies, you can’t watch without first getting some popcorns. Have you noticed how bad the movie theater popcorns is? It’s not worth the money you pay for it!

Well now it seems that the movies are becoming that bad as well. The price you pay to go to a movie is outrageous and movies aren’t as good anymore. They put more emphasis on the special effects and less on the storyline. Hollywood isn’t capable of coming up with new ideas of their own. Instead they rather remake a classic and they ended up destroying it in the process.

They’re too busy getting political, that they are neglecting the art of making good movies. Hollywood stars think they speak for Middle America. Well, I got news for them! They don’t speak for Middle America. What they want, most Americans don’t want.

Since movies are so badly made, movie theaters have created theaters to be like your home theater with surround sound. They now have recliners in the movie theaters. Is it because the movies have become sleepers, that they want people to be able to go to sleep while watching movies?

It’s been awhile since I have been to a movie, even seen a good movies. When you want to take a date out to the movie, it’s cheaper to take them out for dinner than to a movie. Plus, you’ll get your money worth.

I’m not a big Tom Cruise fan, because he has such a big ego, an ego as big as Texas. He can come across as a jerk. It has nothing to do with that he’s a Scientology. Look at how he treated his three ex-wives, Mimi Rogers, Nicole Kidman and Katie Holmes; or even his kids, especially his daughter with Katie Holmes. Let’s put it this way they are a lot happier without him.

Luckily, Mimi Rogers didn’t have any kids with Tom Cruise. Nicole Kidman adopted 2 kids with Tom Cruise; but once she married Keith Urban, they had kids of their own.

One thing I do have to give Tom Cruise credit for: when it comes to making movies, he focused on making good movies that people can enjoy, like Hollywood is supposed to do.

The reason you go to the movies is to escape the cares of the world. You want a chance to relax and to be entertained. Now instead you being propagandized with the subliminal messages in the movies.

I don’t know about you, but I prefer the older movies. They had better storylines. Sure they didn’t have the special effects; but they don’t make the movies.

I liked the original Planet of the Apes movies better than the remake; because of the storyline, the special effects just ruined the movies for me.

Hollywood recently remade the old John Wayne movie, Rio Grande, starring Jeff Bridges. Let’s put it this way, John Wayne is the king of all Westerns. Jeff Bridges is a good actor but he should had known better than to remake a John Wayne movie, being that he was from that generation and so was his father.

The movie, “The Star is Born was made at least 4 times. I don’t know much about the first one. The second one starred Judy Garland; but I have to admit the third one was the one starring Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson. Now I’m not a big fan of Barbra Streisand. Maybe because that version was more in my lifetime.

To this day, I haven’t yet seen the movie, “The Titanic” by James Cameron and starring Leonardo DiCaprio. The reason for not seeing it was because that movie was a remake, just told differently. Why ruin a good thing?

Don’t get wrong, there are some good movies out there. I loved the movie, “The Help.” Even though it was based during the Civil Rights movement of the ’60’s, it was more than just racial discrimination. It was about the differences between the rich and the poor. A person can easily relate to that movie today. It should had won an Oscar.

I loved the movie, “Lord of the Rings.” It did win an Oscar for Best Picture. It was filmed in New Zealand and the director Peter Jackson took advantage of the beautiful scenery in making the movie. He kept it real to the book as well.

There’s one movie I loved as a child and that was the movie, “ET”. I cried during that movie. Once again it was the storyline not the special effects. I hope that Hollywood doesn’t remake that movie.

Most recently Hollywood is remaking the movie, “Little Mermaid.” They have changed it from animation to live action. They’re ruining that movie by going Woke with it.

I can’t believe I wanted to go to Hollywood, California when I was younger. I’m glad that I never made it out there. Hollywood has gone downhill. They have gone Woke and pure crazy with their Leftist views they’re trying to push on the rest of America.

When it comes to making movies, Hollywood isn’t coming up with new ideas and new stories. Instead they are choosing to remake old movies, and ended up ruining them instead. They rather tell the rest of America how to live rather than make good movies we can actually enjoy.

Old Hollywood is dead and gone! Hollywood stars of today cannot fill the shoes of the old Hollywood legend.

I know that I’m going to get criticized for this blog. Not only by Hollywood but also by those who still sees nothing wrong with movies today. They thinks that special effects is the answers to making a good movie. If you don’t have a good story, what good is the special effects?

Hollywood needs to stop going Woke and start making movies that will entertain us. Especially with the high cost of movies and popcorn.

We go to the movies to escape the cares of the world. We don’t want to be preached to their way of thinking.

I’m not a musician, but I admire those who are. Some spend many hours perfecting their craft, taking lessons and/or practicing. They learn what it takes to make melodies that please the ear and what it sounds like when the score falls short. People who can detect a specific sound and produce the perfect complement, or harmony; to the original sound are pretty cool in my book.

When I was a child, one of the things we did was pretend to be in a band that we called ourselves The Ding-A-Ling Brothers and Sisters. Of course, I was the lead singer; and I’m not really the best singer. I wrote a lot of songs, at least the words. I had one song put to music and a recording was made of it. The song was “Open Up.” My first musical instrument was the recorder; which recently I bought another recorder to hopefully practice it again, and maybe play it in church some day. I got my first guitar when I was around 12 years old. I even played the harmonica and a little piano, that I learned in junior high music class. During lunch hours at school, I would perform by singing to the fellow students. You could say, I was the class entertainer. One of the song I would sing would be “Joy to the World.”

When it comes to music, I prefer the old time rock and roll; the good old times music, when singers main goal was to entertain us by singing. Now it seems they have gone political as well.

Yet there are some songs out there today that I actually enjoyed. One song in particular is “Take Me to Church” by Hosier. If you watch the video on YouTube, it’s dark. Some so-called Self-Righteous Christian would condemn me for listening to that song because of the context in the video. I don’t look at the context, I looks at how the song moves me and the message it proclaim.

To you, Self-Righteous Christian, yes I do like the song, “The Lord knows I drink,” so don’t judge me!

When Maren Morris came out with her first hit song, “My Church,” I actually enjoyed it very much. I even said that she would goes far. How quickly my tune had changed on her though. She gone off the deep end, gone political nutjob. She became a part of the Black Lives Matter and the Woke. Maren Morris had a feud with Brittany Aldean over parenting style. She called her out for being transphobic. She criticized Jason Aldean’s wife over her controversial message comparing growing out of a “tomboy” phase to gender transitions.

When Jason Aldean did what a good husband should do, and came to his wife defense, the feud heated up between Maren Morris and Jason Aldean. I took the side of Jason Aldean in that matter.

There was a time when the Dixie Chicks was under attack because of the criticism of President George W. Bush; which triggered a backlash. I have to admit, I stood by the Dixie Chicks though.

When Brad Paisley first came out with his first song, “He didn’t have to be,” that song became a favorite of mine because of my relationship with my dad. I predicted that Brad Paisley would go far.

Pink made a statement to the pro-life movement, “Let’s be clear: if you believe the government belongs in a woman’s uterus, a gay persons business or marriage, or that racism is ok, then please in the name of your lord never (expletive) stop listening to my music and going to my concert.” So I was surprised when Pink decided to return to the Fargo Dome this summer, knowing North Dakota’s pro-life stance.

I have some favorite songs that I loved listening to as well. When I don’t come back don’t come a looking, for example. I like the song, ” I will not comply ” by Blind Joe; because it’s an anti-vaxxer’s song, and I’m against the vaccine.

What’s your favorite song? I gave you some of mine.

What was your first concert that you attended?

My very first concert was Sylvia, at the Red River Valley fair.

What was the worse concert you went to?

The worse concert for me was the Statler Brothers. I felt that it was a letdown from stories I heard about their concerts.

What was the best concert you’ve seen?

I have to admit, the best concert for me was seeing Paul McCarthy. When he came to the Fargo Dome, I was working backstage and his stagehands told me just stand out to the side and watch the concert. Even though, we had to stand the whole time, it was just amazing being so close to the stage and even seeing him when he got off the stage and walked by.

One of the good things about working the Fargo Dome, you can see some amazing concerts and some good performance. Some are real nice and some are jerks.

I have nothing against today’s singers standing up for what they believed in. I just wish they put more effort into making good music instead. Rhianna’s performance at this year Super Bowl was just horrible.

What do you think about all this? I would love to hear from you in the comment below. Or even like the blog.

This is only the beginning in the series they don’t make them like they used to. Stay tuned during this month of June.

As Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said in his “I had a Dream speech,” “I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: we hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal. I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia, the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood. I have a dream that one day with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice. I have a dream that this nation will not judged others by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

We then can live in a country where we are also free from our past.

Don’t let what happened to you and your family hold you back in life! You can find freedom from depression, anger, abuse, insecurity, and addiction. We don’t have to live in the past but we can learn from it; so that we can move forward. It doesn’t matter the color of your skin or your background. It doesn’t matter if you’re rich or poor.

We live in a country where we are free. We honor those who fought and died for our freedom; and not just this Memorial Day weekend. The sacrifices they made so that we can be free. That’s what freedom is all about and why so many are coming to this country.

When we hear those crying out because of the corruption in America, those on the Left thinks the answer is gun control, and more government is the answer to the problems in this country. They just want to control us by taking away our freedom.

Don’t blame guns, the devil or even God! If we sow bad seed, we’ll reap a bad harvest. But if we sow good seed, we will reap a good harvest.

We live in a day and age when many believe there is no such thing as right and wrong.

The government will tell us the problem is with guns or MAGA Republicans.

Joe Biden and those on the Left wants to take away our freedom anyway possible. They thinks that Socialism is the answer. In reality, they are turning this country into China.

Joe Biden wanted to forced everyone to get the vaccine(poison) If you don’t get it, you’re a MAGA Republican.

There are states that were changing their voting procedures to prevent cheating. They’re adding voters ID’s is needed to vote. I think it’s a good idea to prove who you are. North Dakota has that in place. Joe Biden and those on the Left is saying it’s racist, and those pushing for it are White Supremacy. If you are for it, you’re a MAGA Republicans.

Another thing that North Dakota has in place is the fact those who worked the polling place are both Republicans and Democrats. That way, the election can be fair to everyone.

The only reason the Democrats don’t like it is because they can’t get the illegal immigrants to vote.

Voting is a privilege. It’s an honor and our civic duty to vote. But it’s also a choice. Sometimes, the choices is so bad, you just don’t want to vote. Or you feel so dirty; that you need to take a shower afterwards.

Those on the Left enjoys their freedom but seems to hate America. They call it a racist country.

America is not perfect; but at least we are free!

Yet there are those who wants to take our freedom away. They are out to rewrite history and the Constitution.

God bless the U.S. A. this weekend and everyday!!

Let us remember those who sacrificed their lives for our freedom! If it wasn’t for them, we would still be under the control of the Monarch in England.

We need people like the President of Ukraine, who is holding his ground against Russia for the sake of freedom for his people.

One of these days, we shall all be free!!

Don’t let anyone tell you that pets doesn’t have feelings. They are nothing like children or a part of the family.

As I mentioned in last week blog, we can learn a lot about animal emotions. Take it from someone who had 2 cats and had dogs growing up as well.

There’s an AI experiment in which if animals could talk, what would they say?

Animals may not be able to talk like us; but they can still communicate. Last week, I talked about Koko, who was able to communicate through the use of sign language.

Animals have their own special way of communicating, we are just unaware of what they are actually saying.

Growing up, we had a small dog named, Peanuts. We got her when we were out West from our cousins. As we were eating a picnic lunch on the road, Peanuts wouldn’t eat and we couldn’t figure out why at first. Then when it started to rain, she was the first to get to the car before the family. Once in the backseat of the car, she then ate. She knew it was going to storm before we did.

Whenever we would say to her, “want to go by-by, she would excitedly run to get to the car before us.

She had her favorite chair in the house that she would sit in. One time, we brought in a stray black cat to feed and warm up. That cat, Blacky, was in Peanuts favorite chair. Peanuts look up the chair as to say, “that’s my chair,” and jumped up beside Blacky. That was the start of a beautiful friendship between them. When Blacky was fighting with another cat, Peanuts came to his defense by running up close enough barking to scare the other cat away from her friend. When Blacky was killed and Peanuts saw his body, she was very sad for the lost of her friend. She would cry herself to sleep.

As she was older, she had 2 puppies; and we had no idea that she was fertile. She was a good mother to her puppies.

There are some people who shouldn’t have pets or even children. If they abused their pets; who’s not saying that they wouldn’t abuse their children?

What would you think if you came upon a car during the hot summer day, and there was a dog or a child inside? Hopefully, you would do the right thing and report it for the sake of the dog or child.

My one cat, Snowball, was abused by his previous owner before I got him. He was scared at first, and took years to warm up. He came to trust me but it took longer for him to trust others. He loved giving me kisses. He would lay on my chest as I slept and kissed me. He would even lay under the covers. At the same time, he would hide under the bed if any strangers came to the apartment. When he misbehaved, it was easy to disciplined him; since he loved to sleep with me. I wouldn’t let him sleep with me if he misbehaved.

He tried to hang on as long as he could for me and his girlfriend, Tabitha; but he knew his time was up, when I ended up putting him down. He lived to be 18 years old. Toward the end of his life he was happy with me and Tabitha. He was happy to have a girlfriend; even though it took Tabitha a little time to adjust to him; since she was a Diva.

Moving on to raising children. There was a young child who was killed when she was hit by a car on South University near the old Kmart in the rain. I’ve seen the child while waiting for the bus with her mother. That mother shouldn’t even had that child. Instead of watching the child, she was playing on her phone, not paying attention to her child. That child would walked aimlessly unsupervised. Anyone could have snatch the child up. So it came as no surprise that the child was killed when she was hit in the rain by an oncoming car. I felt bad for the child. I felt bad for the person who hit the child, because she has to live with the guilt. But I didn’t feel sorry for the mother. Am I a bad person for that? No, because she shouldn’t have any kids.

How do we raise children in the age of fear? Who wasn’t disciplined when they were a child? Sometimes, disciplining is needed to raising healthy children and pets. Now days though, parents are afraid of discipling their children because they fear being labeled bad parents. I’m not saying that you should abuse them. There is a line between abuse and discipline.

When you have small children or even pets, there is no vacations. Packing can be a challenge.

Being a parent or an owner of pets is like being a CEO of a small business.

Margaret Mead wrote, “A society that cuts off older people from meaningful contact with children, a society that segregates any group of men and women in such a way that they are prevented from having or caring for children, is greatly endangered.”

To get my grandmother to take her insulin, my mother held me over her head by threatening to take me and leave. She was accused of being mean to her mother for doing that. Was she?

One good thing that came out of the Pandemic was the fact that parents were able to finally see what was being taught to their children in schools. Now they are speaking out against what is being taught. They are going to school board meetings, speaking out. They are being labeled domestic terrorist for doing so. There was a Senator from New Hampshire who recently told that the parents should shut up and let the teachers teach their children. Those on the Left is blaming the parents for the poor education of their child.

Children learn by watching others. Much like pets also learned by watching their owners. What kind of role model will you be to your children?

Even Joe Biden chimed in by also calling parents domestic terrorist for speaking out against the school board over the way their children are being educated. He even said that the children isn’t the parent’s children; but rather everyone children.

You know who said that first? Adolf Hitler said that, as he was recruiting teenage boys to be part of his Nazi organization. Hitler was after the children for his own agenda; much like Biden and those on the Left is after our children today.

I’m glad that parents are finally standing up for their children. It’s the parents responsibility to raise their children, not the government and not the teachers.

Just like those who own pets, they have to step up and treat them right. Don’t abuse your pets and don’t abuse your children! You can discipline, just don’t step out of line. There is a thin line between abuse and disciplining.

Those who mistreat their pets, are more likely to abuse their children. Pets are as much part of the family as your kids. Don’t let anyone tell you differently.

Here’s a virtual Mother’s Day hug to all mothers out there. Happy Mother’s Day to you all!!

The book that I’m holding is called, “Mama’s Last Hug.” In this blog, I will be talking about a mother’s hug. This book talks about animal emotions and what they tell us about ourselves. I won’t go into much details on animal emotions; because I will save it for next week blog.

The Gorilla Foundation, from Woodside, California had a gorilla named Koko. Her trainer was Francine Patterson. Koko had an active vocabulary of more than 1,000 signs of what Patterson calls “Gorilla Sign Language. I found Koko quite interesting when I took a Psychology course and came upon that study. I even get emails from that foundation. This is my connection I have with the late Robin Williams. Robin Williams had befriended Koko on his many trips to this foundation to visit Koko. When Robin Williams passed away, Koko took it quite hard.

You probably wondered why I mentioned this? I came upon this book and it reminded me of Koko. I may had never met Koko personally, but from the studies, I found her to be fascinating.

It goes to show that even animals have emotions. They feel just as much as humans. Don’t let anyone tell you different!

Do you know that there’s healing in getting a hug? I don’t care if it’s a hug between a couple, friends, siblings, or even parents. When I was younger, the big thing was that guys don’t hug guys. Some say it’s inappropriate. It’s not the hug but how it’s administered to another person. For the longest time I had a hard time in accepting a hug from a male friend because of that belief.

Just like it’s healing when a mother would kiss a child’s boo-boo. When a child falls and get hurt, not only would a mother put a bandage on it; she would also kiss it to make it feels better. I remembered, one time while running out to the car after being picked up at the babysitter. I fell and got up and continued my way to the car, where dad was waiting. My mother told me that I asked him to kissed my owie. So you see, a child knows that; much like animals knows.

My mother had a hug for anyone she knew. She would hug her kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews; and so on.

She told me that my grandfather would paid his kids and grandchildren to give him a hug; since not many wanted to hug him. Whereas, my grandmother would asked, “what do you want” if anyone gave her a hug. I never witnessed that though. So maybe my mother inherited her affectionate from her father.

I remembered as a child, my mother would tell us kids to go give dad a hug goodnight. When we did that, he would turned his head and reluctantly gave that hug. I do remembered him giving us a whisker rub though.

My mother had so much compassion. Everyone who knew her, loved the fact that she was willing to give people hugs. She would even hug someone; even if that person hurt someone she loved. My step-brother, Ronny, knew that when he asked her for a hug.

It goes to show that there is special power in a hug.

I’m glad that my folks wasn’t alive during the Pandemic when everyone was force to stay home and 6 feet away. It would had been hard on my mother to do that. She loved her family, and seeing them brought joy to her life. A chance to give hugs and kisses she really enjoyed.

The year I turned 50, I was on a train going out West to Washington State to not only celebrate my 50th birthday but also my Uncle Leo’s 80’s birthday. I imagined my mother sitting beside me on that train. I imagined her hugging her brother for his 80th birthday.

I miss my mother and the hugs I had received throughout my life from her; since I was a child to before she passed away.

I’m not the hugger she was. Maybe I take after dad that way.

My mother was the emotional person who worn her heart on her sleeve; while dad wasn’t emotional. Yet, they somehow complete each other.

When people came to visit, they came to visit her because of her loving-kindness. Then dad would get that companionship as well. Everybody who knew my mother, loved her. She didn’t have a bad things to say about anyone. She’ll tolerate someone even though she didn’t really care for that person. I can’t do that like she could.

My mother may be gone, but knowing her, she’s up in heaven giving everyone a hug. She’s hugging her parents, siblings, nieces and nephews. At the same time, her spirit is watching over us down here as well. At times, I can still feel her hugging me whenever I needs a hug.

To those who mothers are still alive, if you can go see her and give her a hug, letting her know how much you love and appreciate her. If you live too far away to see your mother in person, call your mother to tell her that you loved her. A mother doesn’t want gifts and cards. They just want to know that their children hadn’t forgotten her.

I love you, mom!! I missed the hugs and kisses I received from you.

They say that kids say the darndest things. Well what about our parents? Some of the things they come up with makes you want to scratch your head and wondered what the hell they are thinking of?

I’m going to give you some of the darndest things parents have been known to say. Some, you probably heard and some you may shake your head when you read this. Some of the darndest things were said by my parents.

First, let’s start with the most obvious, a lot of people probably heard of a dozen times. I walked 5 miles through the snow to school every day, all uphill too.

You better pray that comes out of the carpet.

What parents haven’t said this: because I said so, that’s why. Or how about keep crying and I’ll give you something to cry about. Both are said when parents are disciplining their children.

Have you heard, when you get my age you’ll understand?

One day you’ll have kids, I hope they turn out just like you. This is usually said after the children are misbehaving as a form of revenge punishment. Believe me, I had a sister who that actually happened to. Her one daughter is a spitting image of her. She got her just desserts as my folks wished for her and all of us kids.

My mother been known to have say, “don’t just stand there with your teeth in your mouth.” It was to get us moving.

She also have said, “don’t leave a room empty-handed.” She was telling us to bring something in with us as we leave one room for the other.

Instead of work smarter-not harder; how about: use your head-not your feet. Use your head for more than just a hat rack. Believe me, people today doesn’t used their head. They have no common sense.

I heard this after Rock Hudson died of AIDS and was revealed that he was a closet homosexual. “Do you know how to prevent getting AIDS? Sit on your ass and keep your mouth shut!”

My dad been known to say after someone did something nice to him, as a thank you. “May all your kids be born naked!”

I heard my Aunt Dorothy say, “Son of a biscuit!” as a form of cursing.

My dad have said after he died, just dig a hole, throw him in and covered it up with dirt. He didn’t need anything fancy. He even said that after building a root cellar away from the house near our garden. You can bury me in there, my tomb.

If he saw lights on unnecessary, he would asked, “do you need that light on? Shut it off!!”

You just ate an hour ago and you’re still hungry? Even though back then we were growing teenagers.

What did you miss in town? Always on the go!

Whenever someone would call or visit while we were sitting down for a meal, dad would say, “every time we sit down for a meal, either the phone rings or there is a knock on the door!”

My mother would say, “who lets you in neighbor kids?”

My dad was true believer in having things that’s built to last. He always said, “don’t buy cheap stuff! If you can’t afford it save up for it.”

Kids are supposed to be seen and not heard.

Speak up, I can’t hear! Quit mumbling!

There are 2 things that you cannot give a black person, a black eye and a fat lips.

I haven’t had a cigarette since Joe Lewis quit boxing.

One of these days, the United States will have another civil war when the American people gets so fed up with the government.

Instead of saying not my church, my mother would say, “not my religion.”

I don’t want to promise you.

Money doesn’t grow on trees.

Supper is ready, wash your hands, you just played with the dog.

About my one sister, who was always late, she will be late for her own funeral.

My mother would call dad the old man.

These are just a few darndest things my parents or other parents may have said. Some of what I could remembered. If you have any other darndest things that your parents have said to you while growing up, share them in the comments below. I want to hear from you. If any of these ring a bell with you, let me know in the comments.

The world has always been a little crazy; but the last few years it seems to have gotten worse. Our Democracy is at stake. America is at stake. Our freedom is at stake. Our values and everything we stand for is at stake.

Since Trump is the front runner for the 2024 election, those on the Left is so afraid that they had him arrested on a trump up charges, for a crime that will and cannot stick. All it did was created more supporters for Trump, boosting his chances in 2024. It made me proud to be a MAGA Republican. Those on the Left is using our so-called justice system for political purpose to stop anyone they hate or stood in their way and agenda. They should let Democracy do it’s work; but they are so damn afraid of the American people, that they will stop at nothing to get what they want and hold onto their power. This is not about Trump though.

The same week that Trump was arrested, there was another school shooting. This one was at a Christian school in Nashville, Tennesse. I’m not going after transgender; but to say that the shooter was a transgender. Fox news was the only news source who identified the shooter. The mainstream news media refused to delve into the fact that the shooter was a transgender. They didn’t even want to say that the shooter suffer from mental illness. All those on the Left wanted to do was pushed for gun controls.

They just want to take our guns away from the good citizens and put it in the hands of criminals and mentally unstable. If they defund the police and take away our guns so that we cannot defend ourselves, it will be like the wild wild west, where every man was for themselves.

There have been more shootings and killings the last few years than previous years. Our Leftist DA is slapping these criminals hands and setting them free to commit more crimes against the good citizens of this country. When anyone would stand up to defend themselves; the Leftist DA want to prosecute them rather than prosecute the actual criminals. We don’t have the rights to defend ourselves anymore. Like my step-dad would say, “let them in the house where there is no witness and make sure they can’t testify against you.”

Crimes is at all-time high right now. America is becoming like a third world nation right now. You don’t even want to be living in the city anymore. If you are anything like me, I just hate to be around people. I prefer the country over living in the city; but I have to work to make a living. I’m just glad that my parents are not alive to see all the craziness in the world right now.

This past week, Biden announced to seek a second term. He said that he isn’t through yet. What, he’s not through destroying America? I don’t know if we can last another 4 more years of Biden’s destruction. How worse can it get before the American people actually wake up. He says that the MAGA Republicans is destroying Democracy and our freedom. When in fact, it’s him and the Democrats Leftist policy that is actually destroying our Democracy and America.

You don’t even care to know your neighbors anymore. You can’t look a certain way without someone saying don’t look at me, and even threatening you. It’s almost as bad as being in prison-prison without bars. A person can get killed just for looking, minding your own business.

People are easily offended for every little things a person says or do.

Back in February, there was a revival in Wilmore, Kentucky at Asbury Wesleyan University. It started February 8 and lasted several days. Believe me, we need this revival! We need to get back to God.

There’s so much I can talk about in this blog about all the craziness going on in the world. I could almost write a book instead of a blog.

Hello God, this is your servant, Dale Heger. How much longer before Jesus will return for us. I don’t know how much I can take. The people had just gone crazy the last few years. They lost their morals. There is no respect of others anymore.

Whenever I get a chance to leave Fargo for smalltown life; I’m happy just to get the hell out of town. When I don’t come back, don’t come a looking. I want to be around normal people instead of the crazy people in the city.

I used to think that it was working at Kmart for 12 years that made me the way I am today; but I see that people are just crazy. I prefer being around my pets rather than people.

Dear Lord, please hurry back to save us all from all the craziness or stop this world because I want to get off!

Nancy Pelosi was the first woman Speaker of the House, not once but twice. She was the 52nd Speaker of the House from 2007-2011 and again 2019-2023. She’s represented the 11th District of California. She represented San Francisco in Congress for more than 35 years. Her father was also a politician as well; so she never held a real 9-5 job in her life. She doesn’t understand the poor working class that she represented in her home district of California.

Before I go on the attack, I have to admit one thing about Pelosi; and that is she knew how to unite her party and get the votes needed in the House. She knew exactly what needed to be done; thus how she regain her post as Speaker of the House in 2019, which she almost didn’t get. She didn’t have the trouble getting the votes needed like Kevin McCarthy did this year.

It took a few tries before he could actually become Speaker of the House. People was very much concerned about him and saw him as a Rhino Republican, much like Paul Ryan. They didn’t trust him; because they were concerned what kind of job he would do. This isn’t about him though.

She was the major force behind the Obamacare being passed under President Obama. Now Obamacare was a joke, a bad one at that. That bill was so long that it took too long to actually read it through completely. A lot of things were promised just to get it passed. It goes to show that those in Congress doesn’t fully read the bill before passing it. They only read what they needed to read.

If you ever listen to her talk, it sounds like she’s drunk. She slurred her words and mumbled. Sounds like she got something in her mouth.

She is 83 years old, much too old. It goes to show how she was addicted to the power in being in Washington and all the perks that comes with it. She’s one of the reason we need term limits for the House and the Senate. They need to take away the perks as well; that way they will serve their terms and go back home to deal with the mess they created. They should have the same treatment as the people who they represent. NO PREFERENCE TREATMENT!!

Since she represents San Francisco, maybe that explains the way she talks. Back in the ’60’s and early ’70’s the hippy generation swarm to California, especially San Francisco. They commune there and smoke a lot of pots, which fried their brains out.

She hated President Trump so bad that she stopped at nothing to get him impeach twice but failed both time. She hated the fact that Trump was draining the swamp in Washington that she was a part of. She wasn’t even able to try to work with Trump because of her pure hatred for him.

As Speaker of the House, they are to at least try to get along to work together despite of the political party.

There was an incident in which she tore up the speech that President Trump gave at his State of the Union message. He was getting cheers and applause; and she was very much upset about it. That is unconstitutional!! She should had been disbarred for that and sent home immediately, losing her pension and perks. She should even went to prison for it. It was very disrespectful.

During the Pandemic, when everything was shut down, she had the galls to go to the beauty parlor to get her hair fixed. She felt that she had priority because of who she was. Like Mikey Hoeven, when she said, “you know who I am?” Nancy Pelosi is no better than Mikey Hoeven. Everything was shut down, she had to respect that as well. She created that mess.

Nancy Pelosi even called the people she represents, “peasants.” She even went as far as to say that they work for her; not she worked for them. Like in the movie, “The Help,” the rich treated their poor housekeepers as slave. She thumbed her nose down on the people she represented; much like anyone who hired cleaning ladies to clean their house.

What if they start a revolution and fought back?

Like I said earlier, she never held a real job. She’s a rich old bag that thumb her nose down at anyone who is beneath her. Then she has the galls to say that she was for the working class. She got these perks like inside stock tips for investments purposes not only for being in Congress; but also because of her husband, Paul Pelosi, who worked for the stock exchange. That’s pretty much how they got their money.

When I said that she’s a drunk, I meant it literally. She’s an alcoholic just like her husband. Few months ago, he was arrested for drunk driving, causing an accident.

After that happened, he was soon attacked in their own gated community home. Nancy wasn’t home at the time. How convenient? Where was the security? She tried to blame it on the MAGA Republicans but it just never added up. So we never heard anymore about that incident. It’s almost like a cover-up by Nancy Pelosi among many of her cover-ups.
