Are you going on a road trip this summer for a vacation? Have you ever noticed crosses and memorials flowers at the intersection or wherever there was a car accident?

This not only a vacation blog but also a memorial blog for those who had been killed in an accident on the road.

There are 3 wooden crosses on the right side of the highway. Why there’s not 4 of them, heaven only knows.

Have you ever been in a car accident and survived? Have you ever witnessed a car accident or seen the after effects of one?

Few years ago, I was in a car accident coming down from Mount Rainier. I was with my cousin, Rosie and we were coming down from Mount Rainier when we happened to be following another car. We ended up hitting it because we wasn’t able to stop in time. What saved me was the fact that I had a seatbelt on and the airbag. I also believed my mother’s spirit also saved me. You see, my mother had passed away beginning of that year. I believed that my mother’s spirit put out her arms in front of me like she would do when she was alive; as if to tell me, your time has not come. When you look at the car, my side had more damage. So it was a miracle that I had survived.

I was on summer vacation visiting relatives out West in Washington State at the time. My cousin, Rosie was driving and was stuck behind the wheel and they had to pry her out and take her by ambulance to the hospital. The medic checked me out to make sure I was ok and they told me to just sit and relax just in case there was any real damage. The next day, her daughter, was concerned that I was alright.

I was a statistic of those involved in a car accident; but I survived by a miracle. Based on data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, about 20-30% of those accidents result in serious injury or death, leaving 70-80% as “non-fatal” accidents.

When I was in the car accident, they checked my neck and to see if I had a concussion.

I also remembered when I was a child when my one step-brother was hit by a car while on his bike in West Fargo. Luckily he survived but was rushed to the hospital for his injury. He was riding his bike when he was hit from behind.

Then there was a time that my nephew was hit by a car running across the street playing. It was a wedding reception and the grownups were drinking while us kids were left to our own devices. I wasn’t much older and was watching over him. Luckily, he survived as well. Soon afterwards, the City of West Fargo put a stop sign at that corner; but it took years and many accidents and maybe even from some deaths before that happened.

We were the lucky ones; but there are some who are not so lucky. The statistic of those killed in a car accident is as followed. There were 40,901 deaths from motor vehicle crashes in the United States in 2023. This corresponds to 12.2 deaths per 100, 000 people and 1.26 deaths per 100 million miles traveled.

Because of those deaths, some people would put memorial flowers and crosses where the accident happened to remembered those who lost their lives.

The cross symbolized recalling the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ was crucified and hung on a cross between 2 criminals. Jesus died on the cross for our sins. Before he died, he spoke, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” That’s one of my favorite verses in the Bible.

So whenever we see the cross we are reminded of the sacrifice Jesus made for us for the forgiveness of sins.

The old rugged cross, I’ll cherish the old rugged cross till my trophies at last I lay down. I will cling to the old rugged cross and exchange it for a crown. This was my grandmother’s favorite song.

Whenever you see a cross or flowers on the road, remembered those who may have lost their lives due to a car accident.

While you are out traveling on a road trip this summer or any other times, drive careful, wear your seatbelt and stay off the cell phone-no texting or talking. Keep your eyes focus on the road. Pay attention to others while on the road to avoid getting into an accident. I’m glad that I had survived to tell others about it.

When a person has a near-death experience, it usually results in a significant change in them. If someone has a life-changing event that cause them to a complete makeover, some people may have a hard time to accept the new person you had become. They may think that it’s stage.

If a person somehow hit it big, they too could go through a major life change and become a different person as well, such as winning the lottery or whatever.

You may have heard someone say, “I’ve changed your diaper or wipe your tears from your eyes.”

I remembered someone saying to me, “I remembered when you were a child when you first came to a certain church; now look at you.”

I remembered when I first met Rick Berg, back in 1984 when I was going to NDSU and was a college Republican and he was running for State Representative in that district. He was a whole different person back then. It seems that the money and power went to his head. Back then, he was someone I felt that I could hang out with. I met people of different culture and society back then. That was the first time, I had Spinach dip as well. I was able to experience different kinds of food that I hadn’t eaten growing up such as Spinach dip and brussel sprouts.

Let me give you a little background of Rick Berg, for those who don’t know him or never even met him before he hit it big.

Rick Berg is 65 years old and a former House of Representative member. He is also an owner of Goldmark, a rental place. He was born in Maddock, ND, Aug 16, 1959. He was raised on a farm in Hettinger. His father was a large animal veterinarian and his mother was a writer. His grandfather immigrated from Norway. He went to college on a wrestling scholarship. He earned a degree in agricultural economics. In 1982,after college he co-founded Midwest Management Company, which later became Goldmark Property Management in 1994, a real estate management firm in Fargo.

When I met him, he first ran for the North Dakota House of Representative in 1984 in the 10th House District based in Fargo. He was there until his congressional run in 2010. He briefly served as speaker of the House and became the House majority leader. He supported privatize Social Security. He proposed making abortion a class AA felony, even in the case of rape and incest.

When he was in the US House of Representative, he voted with Paul Ryan to restructure Medicare and Medicaid. Working with Paul Ryan was one of Rick Berg biggest mistake, since Paul Ryan was a Rhino Republican from Wisconsin.

When he chose to run for US House of Representative, I voted and supported him on the fact that I had helped him get his start in politics. You could say, I create a monster back in 1984, so to speak. I didn’t look at his business dealing with Goldmark. Goldmark Property Management has a bad reputation in Fargo as not being very trustworthy to rent from. They were busy buying up property and they owned many businesses in Fargo. You could say that I was loyal to him; which is one of my downfall in trusting people. It didn’t dawn on me how he had changed because of years in government and the power and wealth had gone to his head. When he decided to run for Senate after only 1 term in the US House of Representative, I couldn’t bring myself to vote for him for Senator. I felt that he only did it for the power and not for the people of North Dakota. It was then that I knew that he had changed from the person I had known back in 1984. The money and power had gone to his head. He had forgotten where he had came from.

Just like when I met Mitch McConnell, when he came to Moorhead, Minnesota to help Bob Dole run for President in 1996 against President Bill Clinton. Mitch McConnell has been a Senator since then. He has been a Senator so long that he lost track of what the people wanted. He became a Rhino Republican. He was a different person back then but since then the money and power had gone to his head.

There are people who seems to forget where they came from and become too big for their britches. They seems to get above their raising. They think that they are so much better since they have money and power. As my mother would say about people who thinks highly of themselves, “they think that their shit doesn’t stink but their farts give them away.” People like that, I can’t stand being around.

It seems that some people when they become famous, they get this entitlement issue thinking that they deserves special treatment. Such as when Mikey Hoeven said, “You know who I am.” Since she said that, I lost respect for Senator John Hoeven.

Much the same way when Reese Witherspoon said to the police, “You know who I am.” They are using their fame, money and power to influence just because they feels that they feel that they are entitled to it.

When Justin Bieber came to the Fargo Dome for a concert, he brought his own hot tub to put in his locker room. He was also very rude the staff of the Fargo Dome while he was there. He wanted special treatment because who he was.

There are some who doesn’t seems to haven’t forgotten where they came from and the little people. I remembered when Luke Bryan came to the Fargo Dome. I will cherish the time as when I was in the process of going up to tear down his stage, he was getting off the stage. He gave everyone a high 5. He was so down-to-earth. I appreciate that in him.

Some may think that I’m jealous but the fact is that some people seems to forget where they came from and think of themselves better than the rest of us. Some people get above their raising. They are not very humble and feels entitled to things because of who they are.

I don’t know about you but I feel more comfortable around a better class of losers. The kind of people who doesn’t think so highly of themselves.

I don’t know if Rick Berg remembered me; but I remembered him before the money and power went to his head. When I have seen him few years ago, I don’t think he did remembered me by the look on his face when he saw me. He just acted like a big shot, looking down on me.

If I ever hit it big,I hope that I don’t become like that. I have no respect for people like that. They think that their shit don’t stink but their farts give them away. They thumb their nose at the lower class of people. Even though, I know people in high places, I’ve got friends in low places.

Do you know someone before they made it big? Have they forgotten where they came from?

We just celebrated the 4th of July yesterday, the United States Independence Day, after we won the Revolution War to free us from the King of England.

We have no king but yet those on the Left is protesting with signs stating, “No King,” in protest of President Trump, who they see as a king. I’m here to tell you that Jesus Christ is my king and President Trump is my President.

We have reasons to celebrate the 4th of July. A chance to party in America. We party with fireworks and picnic. We wave the American flag as a tribute to this great country of ours. We eat hot dogs and salads.

What is the favorite topping to put on a hot dog? Usually it’s ketchup, mustard and relish. You can also put sour kraut. I even heard someone putting mayonnaise on hot dogs; but that is abnormal.

This year the 4th of July was on a Friday. To those who could, it meant a 3-day weekend and getting out of town by going to the lake or the beach. It was a reason to party. Who doesn’t like to party?

Were you there for the party last night?

Right now because of President Trump, the American people have a reason to party, to party like it was 1999. America is back!! Those on the Left probably wouldn’t agree, only because of their hatred for President Trump.

Back in 1976, it was the Bicentennial of the United States. Back then America really celebrated too and was patriotic. Even though we just got out of the Vietnam War, we were united as one.

The last time the United States were united was after 9/11, when America was under attack by terrorist. We haven’t been that united since then. We have been so divided for 20-some years now. It wasn’t because of Trump either, We weren’t even united under President Obama.

President Trump is planning a big 250 years celebration for next year for America. It will start this year. Most recently, there was a 250th anniversary of the army. It was very beautiful and made me proud to be an American. Yet those on the Left was so unpatriotic toward it. They were hoping for the worse. Do they hate America that bad or is it their hatred for Donald Trump that made them unpatriotic and un-American?

What did you do to celebrate the 4th of July?

What is more American than apple pie, hot dogs, and baseball?

The American people has reason to celebrate because of President Trump.

During the Pandemic in 2020, those in Washington and especially those on the Left kept us from celebrating the 4th of July out of fear. Even Joe Biden kept us from celebrating for the following year as well. He stopped the big celebration at Mount Rushmore in South Dakota because he and those on the Left was still in fear of COVID. They were trying to control us like the a king. Yet, they accused Trump of being a like a king, a dictator. If you ask me, Joe Biden was more of a king and dictator than Trump.

Joe Biden mandated that everyone be forced to get the vaccine; which I called poison. He even said, “You’re all going to pay if you don’t get it. This is a free country and Joe Biden had no right to force everyone to get the vaccine if they don’t want to. People lost their jobs because they refused to get the vaccine. If I wasn’t so close to retirement and didn’t have the retirement benefits, I wouldn’t got the poison. I wouldn’t complied.

This year, let’s party responsible as we celebrate America’s birthday and the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Let’s celebrate the fact that we are free thanks to our military. Let us celebrate that we have no king; despite of what those on the Left says. Happy 4th of July everyone!! Let us party in the USA like never before. We have reason to celebrate. To those who drink, drink responsible. Be safe and responsible this year as you party in the USA.

Have you noticed that there has been a lot of fire lately coming from Canada? There has been a lot of smoke in the air as of lately?

There have been more smoke in the air coming from Canada now than when I was a child.

To some people with all this smoke in the air, it makes breathing very difficult to breathe. It’s rather unhealthy to us and to nature.

When I was growing up, I was taught how not to start forest fire by Smoky, the Bear. It seems the younger generation is so careless when it comes to starting fire.

Don’t get me wrong there have been great fires throughout history. There have been 2 great fires on October 8, 1871 that occurred in the Midwest. The Great Chicago Fire that killed 250 people and left one-quarter of Chicago homeless. The other one was the Great Peshtigo Fire in the forest of northern Michigan and Wisconsin that affected 1.5 million acres and killed approximately 1500 people.

In the year of 1893, on June 7, 1893, the worse fire in the history of Fargo began in downtown and spread from wood building to wood building, destroying city hall, the business district and the homes of most of Fargo’s 6,000 residents.

In the early Spring around April of the year 1997, when Grand Forks got hit with a flood, they also was hit with a great fire as well.

Has anyone been involved in a fire or seen one up close?

Every year in the Springtime,we would raked the leaves in our yard down on the farm and raked it into the ditch. When the leaves were down in the ditch, my step-dad would burn the leaves, that ways he could keep it contained properly. There was a time though, that we nearly lost the house on the farm due to a fire. It was before we moved back on the farm. We were busy cleaning up the yard around the house and he was getting rid of the old Mink House. He set it on fire to clean it up. Anyway, somehow the fire got out of hand and the fire department was called. We ended up staying overnight to keep an eye on the fire to make sure that it doesn’t restart. The next day, the people who rented our grandmother’s house invited us 2 youngest in for breakfast.

Have you ever stood next to a fire? The fire gets very warm. When you stand outside the fire, it’s cool to watch; even though it can be dangerous. That’s why as kids,we are told not play with matches and fire.. You will get burn when you play with matches. Usually during the 4th of July, we were only allowed to have sparklers. Any other fireworks, my folks would handle so that we could watch from a safe distance.

It seems that there has been more fires lately. Fires are being set as a protest such as the riots in LA. There have been fires set in Minneapolis in 2020 in the protest over George Floyd. There also have been fire set in the protest in Seattle as well.

Those on the Left is all for saving the environment with the new green deal; but yet they have been starting a lot of fire lately in protest.

Don’t they realize,we need the trees for oxygen to breathe. The birds and other animals also need the trees as well. The trees gives off oxygen. When you burn down the trees or even cut it down, they are doing more harm to the environment. They are polluting our planet with all the fires being set.

Trees are better wind and sun block. They are nature’s way. I don’t know about you but I would rather see a tree than a windmill and solar panel. Trees is wear birds build their nest to rest and to have baby birds. There are some animals that climb the trees for food and rest.

Whenever a bird fly near a windmill, their wings get chopped and they may killed.

Have you ever seen a bird fly into a window? If the window is clean, they fly into it thinking that it’s clear, only to either get killed or shook up a little. I remembered one time a bird hit my apartment window on the balcony and was knocked down. I went outside to check on the bird. Luckily, the bird was alright. My female cat, Tabitha follow me outside and pawed the bird wondering what it was. Now if it was my male cat, he would had kill it.

Sorry for getting off track here a little. The message I’m getting at is this: if those on those on the Left cares so much for the environment, why are they starting so much fire lately? Sure they may say, “We didn’t start the fire.”

I hate seeing all these trees being burned down. We need the trees. How are we going to survive without the trees? Pass it on down!! Let’s save some trees and wildlife for the future generation. Save some blue in the sky. Clear the smoke in the sky from all the fires being set ablaze.

To those on the Left who is worried about Global Warming, quit with all the fires being set. Why don’t we tear down the windmills and solar panel instead. The smoke in the air is polluting our planet and making it tough for people to breathe. The windmills and solar panels is destroying the wildlife.

I know I’m late with this Father’s Day blog but I somehow got the date mixed-up, so sorry. As I rated the top TV mothers for Mother’s Day blog, I will do the same with TV dads. Some of the top TV dads may surprised you a little. You may wondered why they are on the list because of the stars reputation. No one is perfect! As my mother would say, “If I was perfect, I be in heaven rather than hell on earth.

The #1 TV dad goes to Bill Cosby from the Cosby Show. To some this may come as a shock; because just few years ago, Bill Cosby was falsely accused of raped by women wanting not just money but to make a name for themselves. If you ever watched the Cosby Show or even saw his Saturday morning cartoons, you’ll understand why he is #1, despite of the scandal.

At the #2 spot, it goes to Mike Brady, portrayed by Robert Reed. He would of had the #1 spot but Bill Cosby took it away. Once again, another surprised for you. Robert Reed held a dark secret while filming the Brady Bunch. That secret was, he was a homosexual; even though he was married and had a daughter of his own. I picked him because I grew up on the Brady Bunch and wished my family was more like the Brady Bunch.

Coming in at #3 goes to Charles Ingalls on Little House on the Prairie. He was portrayed by Michael Landon. He didn’t set a perfect example in real life; but his portrayal of Charles Ingalls made him top TV dads. He also had a role model himself in our #4 TV dads. That goes to Lorne Greene from Bonanza. Michael Landon worked with Lorne Greene on Bonanza; so he learned from one of the best. Lorne Greene was so good at playing a father type role, that he played similar roles later on in life.

Another surprise comes in at #5 goes to Alan Thicke from Growing Pains. His character on Growing Pains made him a good role model; even though he may lived up to it off the show. He was married to actress/singer Gloria Loring from Days of our Lives. They even co-wrote songs together some for TV shows. They had sons together as well. One of their son is Robin Thicke; who is splitting image of Alan Thicke.

At #6, it goes to Tim Allen. Some people in Hollywood may not approve because he is a Conservative Republican; but he was able to play a father very well on Home Improvement and later on with Last Man Standing. He also had criminal past before making it big as a comedian, TV, and movie star.

Now at #7 it goes to Ed O’Neill from Marriage with Children. Even though that show depict true family dysfunction; he was still able to make the list. Later on in life, he went to starred in Modern Family. His character on Modern Family had some similarity with Al Bundy. He was just perfect for that role.

Another surprised goes to Blake Carrington on Dynasty. He was portrayed by the late John Forsythe. You may go, ha, Blake was an oil tycoon, how can be a top TV dad. Well the answer is simple, he was also a family man who loved his children and his second wife, Krystal. He even loved is one son, Steven Carrington; who was gay. Now John Forsythe in the ’60’s starred in the “Bachelor Father;” which I don’t know much about. He also played the voice of Charlie in Charlie Angels. He comes in at #8.

At #9, comes Dick Van Patten from 8 is Enough. He was a family man on the show with 8 kids. A lot of kids for being made in the ’70’s and ’80’s

Rounding it off at is John Ritter from 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughters. That was his last show before he passed away.

I know we cannot forget Archie Bunker from All in the Family; even though his character was a bigot.

Who is your top TV dads? Do you agree with this list? Love to hear from you.

There’s more to be proud of than what gay pride month. In this blog, I will be talking all a person can be proud of. At the same time, I will not downgrade the gays being proud and gay; that’s their choice. We all have that rights to choose to be who we are. It’s our freedom to be who we are. I’m proud of the freedom we have to be who we want to be.

There’s a story that my daddy tells religiously like clockwork every time he sees an opening in a conversation about the way things used to be. Us kids just roll our eyes as he would talked. Sometimes, we couldn’t get away fast enough.

My step-dad may not been perfect, but at least I’m proud to be his son. He did more for me than my real father. He raised me from the time I was 5 going on 6 years old. He was the only dad I knew. Some kids never had a dad around. I’m proud to call him daddy.

I’m proud of our veterans, who fought and some even died for our country. I’m proud of our military. I never served but I’m proud for those who did. Whenever the opportunity comes up, I will say thanks for their service.

I’m proud of the American flag. I will gladly and proudly stand up to salute the American flag. Whenever I see someone choosing not to stand up for the flag; it’s make me very angry. I remembered back in school, standing up for the Pledge of Allegiance every morning before class begin. Now, they don’t do that anymore in our schools. They need to bring that back in our schools.

Whenever I see rioters burning the American flags in protest; it’s pissed me off. We live in a country where we are free to protest but we do not have the rights to burn the American flags and/or destroy private or public property. Whoever is caught burning the American flag should get jail time.

I’m proud of the 10 commandments and the Bible. At one time there was a 10 commandments monument outside the Fargo Public library and the old City Hall in Fargo, North Dakota. It had been taken down. It should be put back. They should put back the 10 commandments in our schools as well. The moment they took the Bible, prayers, 10 commandments and the American flag out of our schools; there have been more school shootings.

I’m proud of our police. They have a job to do, to protect us. Yet, there are those on the Left who want to de-fund the police. Whenever I get the chance when I see the police, I thanked them for their service.

I’m proud of those who risked their lives daily during the Pandemic. When everyone else were forced to stay home during Covid, they went to work saving lives. I had to go-to work everyday during the Pandemic.

I used to be proud of our teachers; but I’m not anymore. If the teachers actually did their job and taught what they are supposed to instead of teaching Critical Race theory. I’m proud of those who done what was right. If the teachers would teach rather than indoctrinate our students then I can be proud of them. They do not deserve a raise and/or our respect.

This past Saturday was something to be proud of. I’m talking about the parade and celebration in Washington DC in honor of the army 250th anniversary. I saw how beautiful it was. It made me proud to be an American. It was such a proud moment for America. I cannot understand why those on the left can be so disrespectful. It was very Patriotic and that is something to be proud of. I was all choked up when I saw it.

When did the Democrats become so hateful, disrespectful and unpatriotic? At one time, the Democrats were patriotic, what happened to their patriotism? Do they actually hate America that bad?

I have to admit that I’m proud of President Donald Trump. I haven’t been proud of our Presidents since President Reagan. I was never proud of Joe Biden and George W. Bush. I wasn’t proud of Bill Clinton when he made a mockery of the Oval office when he had oral sex with Monica Lewinsky.

Parents should be proud of their children no matter what they do in life or what their grades are in school. Kids will be kids. Parents mustn’t compared their kids over the grades they get in school. Each kids are unique. I was compared to my sister when it came to our grades on our report cards.

When a child mess up and misbehave, a parent shouldn’t stop loving and being proud of them. A parent shouldn’t stop loving of being proud their kids if they happened to be gay either. Yet,some parents would not want anything to do with their kids if they choose to be gay.

I have a cousin who is gay and some of his siblings and other family members don’t want anything to do with him. They disowned him. As they are getting older and death seems to be knocking on their door, then they have a change of heart. They pushed him away and now they want to know how he is doing.

I’m proud of my family despite of it being dysfunctional. I’m proud of my parents even though they weren’t perfect. There are some children who didn’t have a mom or dad. There are some who didn’t have brothers and sisters. I started out as an only child but when my mother married my step-dad, I became the youngest of 7 Kids.

I’m proud that I came from a big family with lots of cousins. I’m proud that I was raised pretty much with my cousins. There was 2 cousins I didn’t knew at all. I even had second cousins that I was closed to, being that most of my cousins were quite a bit older than me.

I’m proud of the lesson I learned as a child. I’m glad that I was disciplined when I misbehaved. Children today are not disciplined. They have no respect for others and for their elders. I was proud of the way I was raised. I’m not proud of the abused though.

I’m not the proud one. I sometimes can be too proud to asked for help. That’s pretty much because of the way I was raised as a child. It was hard to asked for help because it showed a sign of weakness according to my parents. Admitting you need help is not a sign of weakness like my parents have drilled in my head growing up. I’m proud of anyone who does seek help when they need it. It doesn’t mean that you are weak. Remember, pride goes before a fall!

What are you proud of?

Do you ever wonder why it seems like God speaking in riddle? I may not have the answer to that question; but we’ll explore it together.

First of all, let us take a look at the Book of Job. In the Book of Job, God and Satan sat together discussing Job. Why would God sit and talk with the devil about His servant Job or anyone else in that matter?

Now Job was a Righteous man. Satan thought, if, Job was to lose everything he had would he still be faithful to God? Why would God even take the devil up on his offer to allow Satan to put Job through the hell?

You could say that the Book of Job is a riddle to those who doesn’t understand what God is thinking. It’s a book on trusting God, as Job was a prime example.

God promised Abraham to make him a father of all nation. Why would God asked Abraham to sacrificed his son, Isaac then?

Would any parents sacrifice their children? I don’t think so. It’s tough enough for any parents to have to bury their children. They expect their children to outlive them; so that they can take care of the parents in their old age. It doesn’t matter if the child is a baby, a child or even an adult, it’s difficult on the parents to have to bury their child.

Sometimes, God will used certain people to get our attention. I remembered back in the ’90’s when I was feeling sorry for myself. God used the Mormons (The Latter Day Saints) by having them knocked on my apartment door. That night, the Lord woke me up in the middle of the night and told me to get up and pray for your pastor. I pleaded with the Lord saying, “can’t I just lay in bed to pray?” The Lord wouldn’t let me sleep until I got up to pray. The Lord even told me to stop feeling sorry for myself and pray for my pastor.

Sometimes, God will tells you to pray for someone but won’t tell you why. The next time I saw my pastor, I asked what was going on then that the Lord asked me to get up to pray for my pastor. It may not be any certain reason but to get out attention.

Sometimes, the Lord will put us into a situation where we may be tempted. Why would God do that? Is He trying to help us overcome temptation? Is He sending a message to us? Like the Apostle Paul, when he talks about the thorn in his side. Paul asked several times for the Lord to remove that thorn with no avail. That thorn serves as a reminder at what God can do with us frailty and all.

Some people, the Lord will send to witness in a bar or get someone who is in a bar to help that person along. I heard of preachers going into a bar to pick up someone who needed help. Some people in the church would frown on that and forced the Pastor to resign because they were self-righteous in their thinking. They didn’t want to see that the Lord had the preacher go into the bar to witness.

The kind of relationships I had been involved in, would consist of me wanting to take care of someone. It was more of a toxic relationship, not a healthy one. Why would God do that? Why would He put me in a situation where I would be tempted?

Most recently, I was involved in such a relationship. There was a young man named Joey. He was 18 at the time; now he’s 19. He opened my eyes to people like him. He would dressed up in woman’s clothes and was gay. He came up to me first to get to know me. When he told me, his life story of being abused by his parents. I took pity on him and took him under my wings to be there for him. I ended up becoming attached to him in the process though.

Why would God put me in that situation?

Some people may wondered why Donald Trump has so many supporters especially with Christians. After the attempt on his life, there was a meme that looks like an angel was watching over Donald Trump preventing him from being assassinated. I mean, he is no saint by no mean. He’s not perfect.

Maybe the best way to explain why it seems that God favored Trump is to take a look at King David. King David was a man after God’s own heart. Yet, he had committed the sin of adultery with Batheba.

In other words, God will choose the most unlikely person to get our attention, no matter what the situation may be.

Whenever you know God is calling you to do something, be confident that He will guide the process, even if a successful outcome is hard to imagine. He will get you to where He wants you to go.

The theme to this for us is to trust and obey. We may not know the reason for what God want from us. It may seems that He is speaking in riddles to us and we may not understand the reason for it. We may even say, “Why me, Lord?”

In the case of the young man,Joey, that I mentioned earlier, I wouldn’t want to miss a thing. Even though, I had grown attached and had a fondness of him. It was an opportunity I’m glad that i didn’t passed up. If I would had passed up that opportunity, I would had missed any opportunity the Lord had for me.

Some may say that I shouldn’t had taken the time to get to know Joey. It will only leads to temptation. When God speaks to us, we should listen, trust and obey. We may not know the outcomes. In a noisy world, sometimes, God has to do whatever it takes to get our attention. From a loud voice, a whisper, or even speak in riddles.

We may not get the answers to what the Lord is trying to tell us to why it seems that He is speaking in riddles at that time. We can seek sound advice from someone we respect in the church or the pastor. Like when Samuel heard God’s voice speaking to him, at first he he thought that it was Eli calling out to him. Like Eli told Samuel, the next time you hear God’s voice speaking to you and you don’t know who it is; just say, “Speak Lord, for your servant is listening!”

We may not get the answer to why God is putting us in a certain situation here on earth at that time. We may have to wait until we get to heaven and see Jesus face to face. Then we can asked what God was saying to us at that time

Just trust and obey the Lord and He will see us through anything.

If this has spoken to you or if you had similar situation to what I shared, press like and/or leave a comment. God may be speaking to you and you may not even know it or even understand why you are put in a certain situation.

On this Memorial Day and weekend, I was wondering if anyone still put Memorial wreaths on the grave of a loved ones? It seems that the meaning of Memorial Day has lost it’s true meaning.

Memorial Day is a day to honor and remembered our veterans and loved ones who had passed away. Memorial Day weekend is now officially the start of summer.

I know that my parents and their generation would be the one to put Memorial wreaths on the graves of loved ones.

In this blog, I will be looking at a lasting gift and making memories. If you make a memories for loved ones left behind, they may be gone physically but not spirituality. The memories of loved ones will last forever. Even when they are gone, you can still feel their presence through their spirit.

You’ll never see a hearse pulling a U-haul. The reason is, you can’t take it with you when you’re gone.

In the ancient days, the Egyptians pharaohs would build pyramids for them and all their belongings. They believed that they could take it with them.

Instead you should spend the days of your life making memories in the lives of those you love beginning today.

As Woody Allen quoted, “80% of success in life is just showing up.” Spend time with your family and loved ones-for no reason at all but to be there. You will witness miracles you might otherwise miss forever.

By leaving a legacy, a memory behind that will be worth more than any inheritance you may received. Like in the song, “Cats in the Cradle,” a son came to his dad wanting attention, and the dad was too busy for his child. Then when the child grew up and in reverse, the father wanting to spend time with the son, the son was too busy to spend time with his father. In other words, if parents are too busy to spend time with their children, they will remembered that when they get older and when their parents are no longer with them.

A picture is worth a thousand memories but as the song by Brad Paisley, “Who needs pictures with a memory like mine.”

I remembered when my mother was alive, she hated going through her trunk because she said, it had too much memories that made her sad. After she passed away, I inherited the trunk and when I went through it I found a lot of junk; which meant nothing to me. Don’t get me wrong, I did find some important things in the trunk as well, either for me or someone else. I found my rosary when I was a baby in the Catholic Church; even though, I’m not Catholic anymore, I kept it because it was a gift given to me by my Aunt Millie, who was also my Godmother.

The best gift a parent can leave their child is spending time with them. You are making memories for them to have when they get old and you are no longer with them. Not just parents though, even friends or a special person in your life. There was a young man, who I took under my wings that meant so much to me. I cherished the memories I had made with him. I can at time feels his spirit with me.

Just like even though, my parents are gone, their spirit is with me. When I was in a car accident coming down from Mount Rainier, I believed that it was my mother’s spirit that was watching over me.

When you’re making memories, make sure they are good ones. I have good memories and I have bad memories. The good memories, I will cherish, and the bad memories I would rather forget. I have more memories with my step-dad than with my real father. I remembered one time, he carried me upstairs to my cousin’s room while we were on a family vacation, at my one Aunt’s home.

Then there are memories from my past involving abuse that I would rather forget but has a lasting effect on my life as well.

Making memories is a gift that will last a lifetime. It’s more valuable than any inheritance. Don’t get me wrong, I do appreciate the inheritance I had received. I cherished the memories more. As Bob Hope sang, “Thanks for the Memories.”

On this Memorial Day, cherished the memories of your loved ones. May you remembered them always. I cherished my memories I have of my parents and friends. If you have any memories and this blog speak to you, I hope that you will like this blog.

Memorial Day isn’t about putting wreaths on the grave or the beginning of summer. It’s about remembering those who are no longer with you for some reasons.

As Darth Rader said to Luke Skywalker, “Why don’t you come over to the dark side?

In this blog, I will be taking you to the dark side of Hollywood and show how television and movies had changed. In the ’50’s and ’60’s marriage couples slept in separate bed.

According to most television romantic comedies and dramas today, an unmarried couple sleeping together is a natural step in the growth of the relationship. The story line creates a strong emotional connection between the viewers and the characters, so we’re happy for the lovers when they finally get physically intimate. In most cases, the addition of sex to the relationship is depicted as a step forward. It doesn’t create more anxiety and complications for the characters; it’s normal, expected, and problem free.

The goal of dating should be friendship first. Then, when you’ve found your soul mate, comes marriage, and then sex. But this progression is often sabotaged for a few moments of pleasures. And unlike in television shows or in the movies, there are often long term consequences that come with this short term pleasures in real life. According with to George Bernard Shaw, “Not only are our adolescents not taught the physiology of sex, but they are never warned that the strongest sexual attraction may exist between persons so incompatible in tastes and capacities that they could not endure or take things to the next level.

The art of delayed gratification, especially in the area of sexual purity is well worth learning.

Sex is powerful and the depth of such intimacy can have a negative impact on a relationship if it happens too soon and before a permanent commitment. A relationship that might otherwise grow from a friendship into romance and then into marriage is often a commitment. Sex before marriage moves an act of commitment. The result is distorted.

According to 1 Corinthians 7:2, “Because there is so much sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife, and each woman should have her own husband.” Now that is not the case according to Hollywood standard and today’s standard. Most people finds compatibility is through sexual gratification.

It all came about because of the sexual revolution of the ’60’s and ’70’s. When I was born in 1965, it was almost frowned upon for having a child out of wedlock. The church, especially the Catholic would consider a child born out of wedlock as being sin infested.

Now days though, it has become the norm. When I was in school, I had 3 of my classmates who gotten pregnant as teenager. One remained single and the other 2 married.

When my mother was pregnant with me, she did what wasn’t acceptable during that time, she gave birth to me and never married my real father. At the same time, 1972, my older step brother gotten his girlfriend pregnant and ended up marrying her because of what dad told him to do.

In the ’70’s on the TV shows, “Love Boat,” when a couple would entered their room, the door was closed and the viewers were never to see them getting it on. If the “Love Boat”was made today, that wouldn’t be the case.

Things that is acceptable today was frowned upon years ago on television and the movies. I mentioned the “Love Boat.” When Elvis performed on the “Ed Sullivan Show,” they only shown his top half because it was inappropriate to show Elvis shaking his waist on television. It was considered inappropriate for Barbara Eden to show her belly button on “I Dream of Jeannie.” They called “Charlie’s Angels” jiggly TV. On “The Dukes of Hazard,” the daisy duke shorts that was worn by Catherine Bach was frown upon. Even when it came to daytime soap operas, they left more to the imagination by showing less of the characters actually having sex. Now days, you see them jumping into bed all the time on TV and the movies.

It’s more normal now days and it didn’t matter if they are single and straight or if they are gay. Years ago, if any Hollywood stars were gay, they had to keep their sexuality a secret or be done in Hollywood.

At one time sex was considered to be dirty and should be kept in the household between a marriage couple. Now days, sex is more open.

What was kept behind closed doors were kept behind closed doors; even sexual abuse was taboo and kept a secret for years. When I was molested, I didn’t have anyone I could talked about it.

Now days being sexual and talking about sex is prevalent in our everyday conversations. It’s become the norm. You see it everywhere. Like in the video for the song, “Take Me to Church,” by Hozier; the video is dark. I like that song, but according to some so-called self-righteous Christians, they would tell me that it’s inappropriate to watch.

If you listen to some conversations, you would wondered where they heard all that sexual stuff.

Hollywood had slipped into the dark side. Many Hollywood stars, producers, directors, and casting directors have been link with Jefferey Epstein and P. Diddy. I could go more into that but that is another blog, exposing Hollywood.

There is no good wholesome television shows and movies being made these days. When it comes to movies and television, it seems Hollywood had went to the dark side. And not just with sex but also with this Woke stuff. Our Christian values went out the window in Hollywood.

It’s time for a reckoning of Hollywood dark side behavior. The new Catholic Pope, Pope Leo even recommend it as well. What do you think? Is it time for Hollywood and America to come back to the light after being in the dark side all this time? Are you dabbling in the dark side? It’s time to come to the light. There’s more to a relationship than sexual gratification. Relationships is not only about sex, it’s about getting to know a person on a one-to-one basis. Even I’m guilty of going to the dark side,so forgive me. I won’t go into that detail either because I think you get the message.

It’s time to leave the dark side behind and enter the light!!

To all the mothers out there, Happy Mother’s Day!! In this blog I will look at my tops TV mothers.

In the ’50’s when television first came out and TV shows were made, couples slept in separate beds. Just like you didn’t see a toilet in the bathroom or anyone going to the bathroom.

The first time you saw a married couple sharing the same bed was on the Brady Bunch. At the same time, you never saw a toilet in the bathroom. I brought up the Brady Bunch because Carol Brady is my pick for the Number 1 TV moms. She was played by Florence Henderson. She was a mother of 3 daughters marrying a man with 3 sons. It was a blended family.

Coming in at #2 is Claire Huxable on the Cosby Show. Claire was portrayed by Phylicia Rashad. It also starred legendary Bill Cosby. It was about an upper black working class family, in which she was a lawyer and he was a doctor. It was the #1 show during the ’80’s on NBC.

Coming in at #3 is Shirley Partridge on the Partridge Family. She was portrayed by Shirley Jones. She was a single mother due to being a widow. She gave up her job to be the lead singer in the family music business. What people don’t know was the fact that Shirley Jones almost played Carol Brady but turned it down. She is also the step mom of David Cassidy.

Now at #4 is June Lockhart from Lassie. When she was on Lassie, mother didn’t worked outside the home. They usually were seen wearing an apron and caring for her family. June Lockheart also appeared on General Hospital as Felicia’s mother.

At #5, you may be surprised to hear this but it happened to be Roseanne. Roseanne was played by Roseanne Barr. The show was about a blue collar working family; where both parents worked because they had too. She was very strong willed and took charge of the family instead of the husband. The show was more closely related to today’s time at least during the ’80’s. When they reboot the show it was a smash hit but they ended up firing Roseanne by cancelling her out for what she said.. When they did that and changed the show to the “Conners’, the show wasn’t the same.

We have a tie coming at #6 and #7. They are from Growing Pains and Family Ties. They are played by Joanna Kerns and Meridith Baxter. I put them at a tie because both shows were quite similar. Family Ties was on NBC and Growing Pains on ABC. Family Ties had Michael J. Fox and Growing Pains had Kirk Cameron. Between the 2 of them, one was smart and the other not so smart. In both shows, the parents were Liberals.

The #8 spot goes to Caroline Ingalls from Little House on the Prairie. It also starred Michael Landon and Mellisa Gilbert. Now Mellisa Gilbert has a sister, Sara Gilbert who was on Roseanne. They also have a brother, Jonathan Gilbert, who was also on Little House on the Prairie. He played Willie Olson. There was a scene in which Willie and Laura had to pretend to be boyfriend and girlfriend.

At #9 comes June Cleaver from Leave It To Beaver. A show from the ’50’s

At #10 went to Marion Ross from Happy Days. It was on in the ’70’s but based on the ’50’s. She played Ron Howard’s mother. She was a stay at home mother who also kept the Fonz in line as well.

These are my pick for the top 10 TV moms. Other picks are as followed as Peg Bundy from Marriage with Children. She didn’t work only because she chose not to. She was the best mother, housekeeper, and cook. The family went hungry because she didn’t do much cooking and cleaning. In that show, it actually showed Al Bundy going upstairs to the bathroom carrying a newspaper and then hearing the flushing of the toilet.

There was Edith Bunker from All in the Family. She was called a dingbat from Archie Bunker. There was Marge Simpson from the Simpson as well.

Some shows depict life as it was or as dreamed of. In the years that these shows were made, times were different. Some of these shows could be made in today’s time. If Hollywood did try to remake these shows, they would destroy the premise of it. They were good shows with good morals. They were good family oriented shows.

Now days it seems that Hollywood has gone off to the dark side. They have gone totally Woke. When they remade Roseanne and naming it The Connors after firing Roseanne, was proof how Hollywood had gone Woke.

I won’t go into detail on that until next week, when I will discuss how Hollywood had gone to the dark side.

Those TV mothers some were fantasy to children who watched and some were based on TV mothers in those times that it was made. They were good wholesome shows with moral values that seems to be lacking in the world today. Sometimes, you may be able to see your mother in those shows.

If I missed any TV mothers, feel free to add them in the comments below. I cannot name them all.

To all the mothers out there, you are more valuable than these TV mothers. You are treasured for looking after us even if we don’t truly appreciate you. My mothers is not around anymore, but I will cherished her memories. She did so much for me and my siblings. She loved her family. I missed my mother very much. If you missed your mother, you can also comment as well.
